MAJOR LIFE UPDATE 🚨
Guess who’s coming back to the Midwest??

I’m beyond excited to share that I’ve been accepted into Northwestern University’s 2026 MFA Directing Cohort!

If you know me, you know there are two things I’ve been speaking into the universe for a long time: that I would go to grad school, and that when I did, it would be fully funded. I’m incredibly grateful to say that dream is now a reality. I’ll be one of three directing students in the cohort, and I’m stepping into this next chapter with so much excitement (and a lot of awe).

There are a few people I absolutely have to thank who carried me through this journey. From the bottom of my heart, I would not be here without you. 🤍

And the wins don’t stop there, I’ve also been awarded the Junior Directing Fellowship at Interlochen Center for the Arts this summer! Come see Junior B Jones in August 👀✨So excited for another Michigan Summer!

To my NYC people don’t worry, I’m here until September. And let’s be real… you could never get rid of me.🫶🏿

That’s a wrap on Junie B. Jones at Interlochen!

What a pleasure it was to spend the summer creating with such talented, joyful young artists, and to get a little time to slow down, breathe, and soak up some nature along the way.

So grateful to this wonderful production team and to Interlochen for having me. Until the next one! If you want to see clips from the show, hit me up! by @fati2_b

Saying hi from Michigan 👋🏿 by @fati2_b

As you can probably tell from the photos… this production of Newsies Jr. meant a lot to me.

There’s something about Newsies being done by young artists that just hits different. Watching these kids pour their hearts into this story night after night was emotional, powerful, inspiring, and honestly unforgettable.

I am so incredibly grateful to have spent this process with such talented, passionate, hilarious, hard working young people. Thank you for trusting me, challenging me, and reminding me why I love theater in the first place. I cannot WAIT to see what each of you does next. And when y’all accept your Tony someday, don’t forget your theater teacher Fatima. 😉

This was also my final production with Brooklyn Music School, which makes this closing feel even more special. What a beautiful way to end this New York chapter.

Endless love and gratitude to my incredible production team Y’all… we really did that. 📰❤️ by @fati2_b
