I took this photo at the Tumaini Foundation Orphanage, located in Dodoma, the capital of Tanzania.
At the moment, the orphanage hosts five orphans, but around fifty children come there every day for lunch and dinner.
Many of them are from nearby homes, as their families cannot afford to feed them regularly. Most of the parents are farmers, but last year the rainy season was poor, and they were unable to achieve a good harvest. In this photo a girl is playing with a ball made of rags, a simple toy that reflects both creativity and resilience in the face of scarcity @tumaini.foundation #documentaryphotography

This photographic series was born inside a school on the island of Zanzibar, Tanzania, where daily school life is shaped by overcrowded classrooms of up to 60 students. Here, the uniform is an essential symbol of belonging: the students wear it every single day, even when the white fabric has faded and the clothes show the marks of time and wear. They must wear it, and it stands as their visual constant.

The project took shape from a moment of pure spontaneity: the moment the girls saw me taking out my camera, they started running. From that sudden movement, a playful, vital escape in front of the lens, this series began #leicaq3 #leicacamera #leicaphotography #leicashot leicasociety #streetphotography documentaryphotography storytellingphotography reportagespotlight lensculturestreets candidphotography visualstorytel by @federico.iannaccone
