Ramadan Kareem🌙 may Allah bless you and your family this month!! Because of your support and donations, we were able to feed over 100 folks🙌🏾 at our first Feed the Streets event of the year!!! We are already in the planning stages for another event this month with the goal of community involvement and program growth. One of the young people we served came up to me and told me directly that the meal he received was the reason he won’t have to go into Kroger to steal a meal. The menu which cooked fully cooked by Roughiatou Ngaide looked delicious and received so many complements. I only say looked because I wasn’t able to taste any😭. Anjalitta Robinson-Saunders provided deserts that I can say we’re delicious!! pic for proof lol Nadine Young brought the boys my little partners in crime and we were able to get them some pizza🙌🏾 Please enjoy the pictures and know the goal was accomplished Shoutout to KD Davis Maria Holland Lonnie Snow Dana Brock @iyana sky michael uetrecht Vix Burgett-Prunty Aaron Besco Sierra Williams @walter Dave Johnson Sheryl Munson Carley Weiler @Abdul Azeez LeAnn Livengood Dan Livengood Lauri Jones Malea Hill Joely Law-Tweel Na’imah Campbell If I forgot u pls lmk! we are so appreciative of the support and will do it agian🫡 by @feedthestreets_oh
Shoutout to the brothers in the trenches putting their boots on the ground. We ain’t here for roundtables that go nowhere. We’re building power with residents who’ve been robbed, neglected, and disrespected. Our youth are living in these poor conditions and therefore we are uplifting their voices and demands. Regarding Wedgewood, not only has the previous ownership been able to profit tremendously off the residents and the city, but that has led to poor living conditions as well as a lack of trust between residents, apartment ownership, and the city of Columbus. Wedgewood was acquired by Nuveen, which is planning major changes; however, we implore both the city and Wedgewood ownership to work with the community of residents. In fact, we’re saying: give them a seat at the table. Safe, dignified housing isn’t charity. It’s politics. by @feedthestreets_oh
Bringing the community together through shared hot meals and resources. We’re doing our best to meet each other's needs, and while we don't have all the answers yet, we're moving forward with the goal of supporting those around us and making their plates a little lighter in the process. What is mutual aid if not the community serving the community? Today, they served as many as 150 future organizers and community leaders. We were surrounded by love the entire time. There is no doubt that by this time next year, something even more amazing will be built by the people of Wedgewood for the people of Wedgewood. Thank you to everyone who donated y’all showed up for this community and made it possible for the work to be done. by @feedthestreets_oh
More than likely……Our last outdoor serve of the year was filled with both joy and genuine love. We were able to serve at least 125 servings of food, 50 hygiene kits, 30 snack packs, and at least 100 pieces of clothing. We were able to meet today’s need because of everyone who gave and showed up. by @feedthestreets_oh
Justice for Mohammad Isaifan Akron police officers shot Mohammad Isaifan roughly 14 times, including in the back, in 2019. Today the family has sent the case to the Supreme Court of Ohio. by @feedthestreets_oh
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to spend today serving the Wedgewood community and the family of Tania Hudson. We were able to provide meals to over 140 folks, with a significant portion being children. Today, Ms. Hudson organized an event to honor siblings who have lost loved ones to violence. Tragically, she lost both of her sons to gun violence, one of whom was killed by police. We are considering returning to Wedgewood in a couple of weeks for another cleanup and cookout. If you would like to participate, please fill out the Google form in the bio or keep an eye out for a new post. We want to express our deepest love to everyone who donated, especially to…I’m not gonna tag you bro but much love! And to everyone who gave time @bubbly.blackgirl.brigade @blackmenbuild by @feedthestreets_oh

🚨‼️ WE NEED YOUR HELP SEEKING JUSTICE FOR MY BROTHER. PLEASE READ AND SHARE. ‼️🚨 We have important news regarding my brother’s case. The officer responsible for his death has agreed to plead guilty and is expected to enter his plea tomorrow. This is a step toward accountability, but the fight is not over. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 3 years, but the judge ultimately decides the sentence. It could be much less, including probation or community service. We have been told that hearing from the community can help the judge understand the impact of this case when making that decision. Maybe it makes a difference, maybe it doesn’t, but we refuse to stay silent and wonder if we could have done more. My brother was unarmed, in his bed, and posed no threat when he was shot and killed. THIS IS OUR CALL TO ACTION If you knew and loved my brother, please write and share who he was and what his loss has meant to you. Even if you didn’t know him personally, you can still show your support by writing to the judge and advocating for accountability and justice. This is the email for. All emails will be forwarded to the judge ttdgiraffe@gmail.com Subject Donovan Lewis or ATTN Judge Lynch Please don’t assume someone else will write. YOUR voice could matter. ✊🏽❤️ JUSTICE FOR MY BROTHER. PLEASE SHARE. #JusticeForDonovan @highlight by @feedthestreets_oh

Boosting a request from friends Big request! Last night about 20 people I serve were hit by a flash flood and lost everything. The shelters are full. If anyone has tents, tarps, blankets, sleeping bags, please drop them at the back of Simple church at 3043 Gender Rd, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068. Also, taking monetary donations so I can pick some up! Anything helps! Venma: @FarEastArea Cashapp: $FarEastArea by @feedthestreets_oh
Yesterday, our team met with residents at Wedgewood Village Apartments, gathering accounts of their attempts to contact city officials and building management. We just want folks to have decent housing. @mayor_ginther by @feedthestreets_oh
