sick edit bro the chest took me two weeks of work 😌

followed the amazing @cravenconservation youtube tutorial video series which helped a lot. Can't be grateful enough for stuff like this. My only addition was the frame and panel lid.

today I am consumed by grief and sorrow, holding onto that little smouldering ember of gratitude for Akira Toriyama's work that inspired eleven year old me.

Rest in peace, legend.

As of 2023 there were around 2700 billionaires in the world. The global population is getting closer to 8 billion.

Your chances of becoming a billionaire are around 0,0000345%

Joining the ranks of the disabled, chronically ill and waiting for diagnosis could be achieved in a snap of a finger. It is one of the few if not the only one social group that you can become a member of overnight. Just like that.

29th of February is kinda rare. It comes every four years. The last day of February is a day for raising awareness for rare diseases, established in 2008. A disease is rare when it affects fewer than 1 in 2000 people. There are over 6000 kinds of rare diseases and 72% of them are genetic. Some of them are invisible, for some we have decent protocols for achieving remission but all are a burden for a lifetime.

Fun with line art modifier part 2. One of my earliest models way back from 2020, retextured. Heavily inspired by Blade runner and RoboCop. I really don't want to go back to the original Freestyle. That thing was unwieldy and janky as hell.

I always have that foreboding thought crawling through my head that tells me I have achieved nothing and I am going nowhere. That fear keeps me worried about other things when I barely have the strength to make myself breakfast. I know that thought is not true but it always feels that way and reasoning with feelings yields mediocre results at best.

During this year I painted a few more things. Oil paint no longer feels overwhelming and out of my reach - and that also was a deeply ingrained fear that kept me from pursuing painting for at least 15 years or so. What I wanted to work on confident but loose brushwork and while I'm not totally there yet I'm beginning to see promising signs here and there. I try to remind myself that progress is not a race, it's a marathon.

I finally had an opportunity to replace my GPU and this allowed me to dive back into Blender and try digital sculpting.

Last but not least I did a few small digital illustrations and sketches just to avoid getting too rusty.

What I'm hearing again and again is that while previous years were tough and soul crushing it's 2023 that kept grinding us into a fine paste with unrelenting consistency. I mean yeah, but nature and your friends and lovers are still there and while the world is fucked and cruel we persist so I think that's something to hold onto.

I want to thank every one of my friends that are still there, everyone who found my paintings worth having, all the silly little people in my silly little phone, bots and NFT grifters and the mighty algorithm beast.

Perseverance will triumph because the joy never left. by @ferdynandgoniewicz
