POSTS STORIES REELS

Hello friends!

Haven’t been posting lately, but I’m still here.

Things, the news, the state of the world, politics, and all the crazy ish happening everywhere got the best of me, and I guess I just needed time…

Anyway, I recently read SenLinYu’s new short story, “Underbelly”, and my gosh! They certainly do know how to break our hearts and tear us apart, don’t they? Such a terribly sad story. I can’t get it out of my head now.
Have you guys read it?

I also just received my Spanish edition of Alchemised that I had preordered months ago, and I couldn’t love it more.
I now have 12 editions of the same book🫣🙈

Also, Red Rising finally got its claws on me so bare with me, I might become insufferable, just like I did with Dungeon Crawler Carl, which is now one of my favorite series ever😅

Anywho, tell me what you’ve been reading …

New pfp😏 … it seems like forever since I last updated it🤓

Had a very eventful month.. traveled to Las Vegas to see the BSB live at the @spherevegas , it was the coolest concert experience ever! I grew up listening to them so they hold a special place in my heart (I also learned English by learning their songs back in the early 2000s in Venezuela, so yeah, it’s a pretty big deal for me). We also drove to LA for a day which was exhausting but super cool.
Got to visit the coolest bookstore in LA @lastbookstorela and took a bunch of pictures..ate In n Out which we loved, visited Caesar’s Palace , saw the Fountain of Bellagio, and walked around the Vegas strip for hours. Anyway.. a very busy month for me and my little family… we tried to forget about the horrible state of the world during those 3 days, but I’m back to reality now- screaming into the void. 🙃

This is a story about loss, grief, and a much needed healing. I’m unsure how Alexis was able to fit this incredible plot in only 388 pages because let me tell you, this was INTENSE; the plot was so well thought out, and so different from anything I’ve read before, I was immediately immersed in the story.

If I’m being honest, the romance was not what kept me at the edge of my seat, it was actually the murder mystery investigation, which was honestly very cool and so well executed. The romance is the slowest slow burn ever, but I actually quite enjoyed it because it kept me locked it.

The characters are very flawed which made them so much more lovable and real. The romance was not the main plot of the story, and it was honestly not what I was focused on; my main focus was the sweet and most gentle boy ever, Antaris; let me tell you, he was the star of this story. My heart broke for him over and over again, and the tenderness it made me feel, it’s honestly what made this book a 5 star read for me.

The magic system in this book was very different, and I appreciated that so much; like what do you mean that in order to perform any type of spell, there is a price you gotta pay, but with your body, like a headache, or a tremble? Maybe I haven’t read enough fantasy, but I found this so unique. Also, having Sight is like the coolest thing ever, yet, in this world, you’re considered inferior? Yeah, pretty mind-boggling plot. I 100% recommend this book.

PS: for the ff girlies, the Easter eggs sometimes found throughout the story were so subtle, but felt so good to be able to recognize them- they made me feel giddy! 🥺 I adore Measure of a Man, and it will forever hold a special place in my heart, but this is a completely different and unique story, and you all have to read it … it’s sooo good! (Also, it’s super short compare to MoaM🤭)

Out March 26th. Thank you @amazonpublishing for sending me this advanced readers copy.

This is the second book my Cara Bastone that I read and loved. They have all been very unconventional which I find very interesting. Her stories are always very different and unique. The plot to this story was quite unexpected, and I love how flawed the characters are; I feel it’s what makes them so relatable.
I do have to say, it took me a while to finish this one cause I kind of sat it aside for a bit, but once I got into it, I couldn’t put it down.

Roz and Vin are a married couple that survived a terrible accident along with Vin’s brother, Raff, who is also Roz’s best friend. While they recover from the trauma the accident caused, their marriage starts to crumble. They start living “separate lives” while still living together, but they later learn how much they still love each other. They were both dealing with PTSD, and dealt with it in different ways, but later realized they couldn’t live without the other, which made their marriage grow stronger.

This story is filled with vulnerability, sorrow, how one deals with trauma, and how hard it is to overcome what you’re most afraid of, in order to keep going. This book was beautifully written, and it made me feel so emotional towards the end, I actually got teary eyed for a bit. Side note: I NEED a Vin in my life.
