Not me trying to flex my CV bc really, I held the most average jobs that most people are capable of landing.

But I am sharing my perspective on work and how being in different roles made me more empathetic bc It suddenly hit me that the upcoming tea gatherings hold a common theme - work.

I’m also very aware that I am privileged to have the freedom of choice because not everyone can afford to earn less. First you need to want less, and wanting less is as hard as earning more.
Having a healthy and financially independent parent (and siblings) is also my blessings.

Next year I’m going to work in a boba shop bc I want to learn to make milk foam. 🧋

My parting words: 𝐀𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐚𝐲 “𝐟*𝐜𝐤” 𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤; 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭 & 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐠𝐨 🖤🌚

Also, you may call me a Philomath 😏 sounds fancy by @fillyourwellspring

Not to sound morbid but it was through this 12 weeks 100 hours of learning and sharing that I could finally articulate what I’m trying to do 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒆.

𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒆 is a place, a season in my life, this lifetime, this IG account, or my actions.

As time goes, 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒆 might change, but for 𝓝𝓸𝔀 this is my why.

*disclaimer: in my imagination of death, I was older because I only allow myself to die after my mom and my dog (that woman had enough hardship in her life, to die before her would be cruel, and too sad for a pet).

If you’ve ever had a conversation about death with me, you’d hear me say my target death age is about 60, max 65, and god forbid I don’t live beyond that. Because to live is to suffer - and I have long understood that, plus I have no kids, and no one who needs me by then.

And in case I do die before my mom, please show her this and tell her I love and thank her very much, thank you. 😬 by @fillyourwellspring

What if the colours could tell you more about yourself? 🌿

Last month, Co. was happy to bring together @veu_alchemist and @fillyourwellspring for The Colours Of Your Roots, a workshop exploring the Five Elements, colour analysis and self-discovery.

From understanding our inner strengths and discovering our personal colours to finding balance through mindful reflection and tea, participants were invited to reconnect with themselves and nurture their own growth. 🌱🍵

An about me but not about me video because what’s there to say about me to the minimal followers who are either my friends or in some capacity met me. (And IG said reels over 3 mins will not be shown to non-followers 😂😂😂)

But sometimes there’s a flow, and one of my ex-bosses gave us the book “Start with WHY” from Simon Sinek 😂 iykyk, I think none of us finished the book 🤣 but we get the idea.
So… maybe a WHY is more appropriate than a what and who at this point.

The TL;DR of this video is I’d make a really bad director and people manager in a corporate setting, and instructor… because I just can’t for the love of my life, instruct people what to do 🫣
I’m all about 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒐 𝒀𝒐𝒖 💁🏻‍♀️✨

I’m just here to listen and give you ideas from what I’m hearing from you. And maybe have some fun and relaxation 💃🏻

Also, there is a blooper of me screaming at my dog because she kept barking at the door before this facade of quiet and stillness 🫠 and it’s also why you’d never see my dog in my Open House sessions 😭😭😭

Dog is only available upon special requests 🥲 by @fillyourwellspring

A beautiful evening of colour, energy and connection under the Mid-Autumn moon 🌕✨ Thank you everyone who joined us in exploring how colours can become a language for the energy we want to express based on our elements 🫶🏻🪄 #colouranalysis #personalcolor #fiveelements #sgcolouranalysis #colours by @fillyourwellspring

Blessing your feed with the micro-moments of Bhutan - the movement, sound, light, and the imageries of the very alive forests in different weather conditions and altitudes.

Animals that were captured with my eyes but not on camera - Crested Kingfisher, Grey Langurs, Pika, Black Snake. And, I’ll save you from my video of leeches, plus us having a dip in the river.

As someone who has never trekked a forest or climbed a mountain, I think I did good surviving four forested mountain hikes + one 6-hour hike up and down Tiger’s Nest. Bizarrely, no ache in the calfs unlike walking long distances on flat land, but knees and toes were 😣🤪😖😭 going downhills… And I learned that downhill is 💯more painful than uphill 🤷🏻‍♀️ just like in life, going upwards is challenging but down is painful.

Please enjoy video 7 to hear my endless struggle on a hike we started at 6 am🤣 by @fillyourwellspring

Ok, friends, I’m finally doing it. I’m opening up my home for Sound & Tea (you get to choose the incense too).
I call this 𝐘𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐄𝐀 because Yin carries different meanings in Chinese:

Yin is sound
Yin is stillness, receptivity, and fluidity
Yin is to drink some tea and have some snacks
Yin is an invitation to hideaway and to be present

My intention with these sessions is to encourage expression of emotions, thoughts, ideas and curiosity to flow - starting with sound bath to balance the parasympathetic nervous system and bringing the brainwaves into a lower frequency.

Thereafter, it’s your time to explore/express through journaling, movement, speech, or even in silence - accompanied by tea and snacks from my travels.

I emphasise that I am not a coach/healer/therapist.

This is just me sharing my energy, my space, and my practice - as a sounding board, and a wellness companion.

Dates are up on - 𝚑𝚝𝚝𝚙𝚜://𝚕𝚞𝚖𝚊.𝚌𝚘𝚖/𝚢𝚒𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚊 (🔗 in bio)

Each session is capped at 4 pax.
There are Private sessions, which you are welcome to come alone or bring along friends, and the space will be just yours.
Then there are OPEN sessions.

This format in September is the first iteration, and it might change in future. I will be traveling again in Oct-Nov, so the next open house series after this might be far in the future.

See you ✌️🌱 by @fillyourwellspring

𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 - our foraged mushrooms to the delicious dishes.

Featuring:

Cover - fresh vs cooked mushrooms from Chef Bleu’s table

2-7. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒛𝒆𝒅 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒔𝒖𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆 (𝑷𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎), highly sought after by the Japanese. These mushrooms can’t be cultivated, hence they fetch a high price and countries like Bhutan and Finland forage them for sale to Japan.

Our multi-talented guide + chef made us Matsutake soup - simple with butter, chopped garlic, ginger, and a bit of chilli.

From Chef Bleu’s table, Matsutake with beef and garlic slice.

8-10. 𝑴𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆

11-13. 𝑷𝒐𝒓𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒊 - also cannot be cultivated.
Sauté with butter 😚👌 👌 👌

14-15. 𝑩𝒆𝒆𝒇𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒌 𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎
Also 😚👌 👌 👌

16-19. 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆 - also cannot be cultivated

Chanterelle Jam 🥰🥰🥰 the most creative mushroom dish by @sjfriedman11 who also prepared the Maitake and Porcini ♥️

Another from Chef Bleu’s table, Chanterelle with cream on toast 😋

What a privilege to visit Bhutan & to be invited into Bhutanese homes, the forests, & the culture.

Bhutan, a country that was so abstract to me - 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘰 𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥, 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘢𝘯 𝘶𝘯𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘧𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 & 𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 (𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘢, 𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘈𝘮𝘢𝘯 & 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘦𝘵𝘤.), 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘰 “𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘩” 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 & 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘥, 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘛𝘪𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘕𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘴, 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘢 𝘉𝘶𝘥𝘥𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯?

After 10 magical days in Bhutan, I learned that 𝐁𝐡𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐁𝐡𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐧;
A special & precious country where myths & legends still live, nature still stands strong, & people live in abundance not in terms of money but in the lands, mountains, waters they held sacred.

Everyone in Bhutan has access to the fertile land to grow food, fresh flowing water from the mountains, wild food forests that keep giving. To me, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗦𝗣 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗵𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 & 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 - 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 & 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁. I sincerely think their tourism should emphasise this more because I can feel how my body feels eating clean & fresh for 10 consecutive days - & please, they eat meat & beef!

The respect they have for the land, people, & animals is evident when you look at the stray dogs, I dare say I’m quite well-traveled but Bhutan is the only country I’ve been where the strays would sleep belly up on the streets & wag its tail at most strangers.

If only every country can adopt Bhutan’s approach to growth in harmony with nature & traditions.

Thank you, Bhutan, for being so gracious.

What I learned in Inner Mongolia and maybe this is why I feel so connected to Inner Mongolia…

Nomads see the world through Five Elements — Wind, Fire, Earth, Water, and Space; and Inner Mongolia is one place where I can see and feel all five elements converge, a still point where earth meets sky, and space itself takes shape.

Everywhere in the temples of Inner Mongolia you’d see The Tenfold Auspiciousness symbol that consists of the characters of the five elements, Sun and Moon, and other few characters, which together represents the unity of Heaven, Earth, and Human.

The most primitive religion for nomads is Shamanism and they pray to the Fire God, even the great Genghis Khan; it was in Yuan Dynasty, due to political reasons that Tibetan Buddhism was introduced to Inner Mongolia and started to take over as the predominant religion.

However, the religion, nomadic cultures understand the importance of living with nature, and how to live with the nature elements.

Apparently, each element is represented by animals, and I saw all of these animals… Fire and Horse, though are unique to each other, and they are the most significant element and animal in the culture.

Please enjoy the nature I experienced, including a shoot of a wild wolf that I’d definitely mistaken as husky if I don’t know better. 💁🏻‍♀️

👉👉👉

🌪️ Wind belongs to the big birds like falcon and eagle — shamans believe they can bring sickness away and carry prayers to the sky.

Wind is the force that sets things in motion: clouds drift, grass bends, birds fly, and seasons change. It represents dynamic energy and change. - similar to the Wood element of Chinese Medicine (which is also represented by Wind as its climate).

💧 Water rules over fish, frogs, and waterbirds — creatures born from lakes and rivers. Also like in Chinese Medicine, water represents wisdom, movement, and ebb and flow.

🔥 Fire is embodied by the horse — wild, fast, and untamable. In shamanic belief, the Fire God rides a red horse across the steppe. Traditionally, they feed the fire with Cypress leaves or powder during worship rituals as a form of purification.

In sound therapy, fire is represented by the shaman drum, and by @fillyourwellspring
