Jesus’ way of life is threatening to some, and uncomfortable for others who lay sleepily in darkness. Nevertheless, He is calling everyone to wake up and experience freedom. To be humble despite their rank or position, and realize their need for a Savior.

Jesus tells them of heavenly things — that there’s more to life than this world. It’s a hard pill for anyone to swallow, until one surrenders and remembers that life with Jesus is peace with God, life to the full, and fullness of joy — even in sorrow and affliction.

can't believe we're not seeing him again, thank you @david_amito for your amazing portrayal of John, one of the people in the bible that served as a great example for what it means to trust in Christ till the end.

Now Herod had arrested John and bound him and put him in prison on account of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, because John had been telling him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.” Although Herod wanted to kill John, he was afraid of the people, because they regarded John as a prophet. On Herod’s birthday, however, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod so much that he promised with an oath to give to her whatever she asked.

Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist.” The king was grieved, but because of his oaths and his guests, he ordered that her wish be granted and sent to have John beheaded in the prison.
John’s head was brought in on a platter and presented to the girl, who carried it to her mother. Then John’s disciples came and took his body and buried it. And they went and informed Jesus.

backstories for ancient nations are so interesting to me by @filmsbyaj

[watch till the end <3] Both were lied to and betrayed, yet never lost hope. They had more love than most may ever realize, especially for their sibling.
Someone took a chance on them both, creating a hero in the making. Soon enough, both found that they weren’t outcasts, but had been loved all along.

$Hi there! Firstly, I wanna say that i hope this post finds you well <3 I want to start posting on this account again, but definitely not as routinely as before. like i mentioned in the former post, i realized that i had begun to idolize editing, giving it way too much of my time and thought. It’s definitely an art I enjoy, but it started taking the place of God in my life, the “number one” place in my heart you could say; which is dangerous and preposterous. And so, i took a break, stepped away for a time. Recently though i’ve begun to pick back up this hobby, and realized that i need to keep it at just that: a HOBBY. As wonderful as creating things is, the feeling of relating to others, and showcasing your fav television characters, friendships or ships in edits, none of it has ever brought me a fraction of the peace, happiness, and love i feel when in the presence of Christ <3 Oh yeah! That leads me to the last thing I wanted to mention. I’ve also decided to talk about Jesus on here, cuz honestly, he’s awesome, he’s brought me life, and has lit up my dark world. That being said: don’t worry. This is a safe place for everyone, regardless of beliefs, philosophical views, gender, race, political views, or any difference there may be between us. I’m not here to force anyone to believe what I believe, and I don’t think anyone can force a person to come to Christ, it’s simply choosing to respond to his call that saves, it can’t be forced upon anyone and I won’t try to do so. I think that just about covers everything! More to come (Godwilling)! Love you all, and Jesus loves you (truly). God bless. - aJ 🤍 #restart #marveledit #starwarsedit #thechosenedit #eyesup #letsdothis by @filmsbyaj$
