4 flea markets in Paris that are there every Sunday, not just once a year.

1. Puces de Vanves, 14th. Avenue Marc Sangnier and Avenue Georges Lafenestre, Saturday and Sunday from early morning. Silver, linen, glass, old prints.

2. Marché du Livre Ancien, 15th. 104 rue Brancion, under the iron roof of a former horse market. Bring cash.

3. Place d’Aligre, 12th. A few brocante stalls next to the food market, Tuesday to Sunday mornings.

4. Puces de Saint-Ouen, just north of Paris. Saturday to Monday, here since 1885. Pick one or two markets and take your time.

Go early, say bonjour first, and keep a little space in your suitcase.

Save this for your Sunday in Paris, and send it to the friend who always comes home with one more thing.

I live in ROME, and I still slow down every time I walk into PIAZZA NAVONA.

That morning, the soundtrack was a hammered dulcimer. A painter was working on his watercolours under an umbrella, a table waited outside with its red checked cloth, and the ivy climbed over a palazzo flying the flags of Italy and ROME

A DETAIL MOST PEOPLE MISS: the piazza keeps the exact shape of the Stadium of Domitian, built in the first century. The houses stand where the stands once were.

LOOK UP: Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers, and right in front of it, Borromini’s Sant’Agnese in Agone.

GO EARLY: before ten, when the painters are setting up and the cafés are still quiet.

Some cities you visit. This one I’m still discovering.

What does ROME sound like to you?

Dear me, this one is for you. And for every woman reading this on a Monday morning.

Some days I’m a surgeon, focused and precise for hours. Then I’m a mum, counting bedtime stories. Then I’m building something of my own, late at night, one small step at a time.

For years I kept myself last on the list. Now I’m learning to love myself a little more, to be grateful for what I already have, and to celebrate the woman I’m becoming, not only the one who gets everything done.

This week, be gentle with yourself. You’re doing more than you think.

Send this to a woman who needs to hear it today. 🤍

And tell me below: what is one thing you’re proud of this week?

Two towns, 45 minutes apart. Both worth staying in until the lights come on.

📍 STRASBOURG, PETITE FRANCE

WHERE TO STAND: by the Maison des Ponts Couverts, over the canals and the medieval bridges. At sunset everything is doubled in the water.

LOOK FOR: the Maison des Tanneurs, once home to the city’s tanners, now an Alsatian restaurant right on the canal.

THEN: a gelato at Franchi on Petite Rue des Dentelles, and a pause on the Pont Saint-Martin, listening to the river. @maison.franchi

FOR A GLASS: L’Alsace à Boire, a Grand Cru tasting of five glasses with local cheeses. @alsaceaboire

📍 COLMAR, PETITE VENISE

WHEN TO GO: at sunset, when the warm light reaches the pastel façades and the little bridges are reflected in the still canals.

HOW: no destination. Let the narrow streets lead you, between craft shops and cafés.

FOR DINNER: Bord’eau, right on the canal. Book a table by the water in advance.

BEFORE BED: walk to the Collégiale Saint-Martin, lit up after dark.

A DETAIL I LOVED: our hotel in Strasbourg, the Pavillon Régent Petite France, stands on the city’s old 19th century icehouses. @regentpetitefrance

STRASBOURG or COLMAR: where would you spend your evening?

Save this for your ALSACE trip.

Weeks away. Finally, a morning that belongs to me.

I love my work, and I love the trips. But there’s a quiet moment I wait for every time: the first Sunday back, when the house is still and nobody needs me yet.

No alarm, no suitcase, no decisions to take. Just the light coming in, and all the time in the world.

This is how I come back to myself.

What’s your first ritual when you get home?

I wish I could say this was all part of the plan.

AQUAPETRA was a detour. @aquapetraresortspa

A stone house under bougainvillea, an old Fiat 500 and a Vespa by the door, a glasshouse walkway leading to the pool. Dinner by candlelight, a long chocolate dessert with caramel shards on the plate.

Some places you don’t plan. You just stay longer than you meant to.

Have you ever kept a detour to yourself because it was too good to share?

Save this for your next trip to the south of Italy.

If you only have a few days in PROVENCE, start here.

1. LOURMARIN, la Chic: the terraces and the galleries.

2. GORDES, la Glamour: the view and the long lunches.

3. ROUSSILLON, la Rouge: the ochre lanes.

4. L’ISLE-SUR-LA-SORGUE, la Flottante: the water and the antique dealers.

5. EYGALIÈRES, la Discrète: the one that asks nothing of you.

All five are planned day by day in my Provence guide, with a hand-drawn map of every village and a Google map already pinned.

Which one would you start with? Save this for your trip.

4 cities for an autumn escape, each one best seen from the water.

📍 SEVILLE: a rowing boat under the bridges of Plaza de España.

📍 STRASBOURG: the glass-roofed boat along Petite France.

📍 COLMAR: a flat boat through Petite Venise, past the geraniums.

📍 ROME: the little lake in Villa Borghese, by the Temple of Asclepius. the city I come home to after every trip.

Save this for the next city break. Which one would you board first?

Some lunches you remember for the view. This one I also remember for the olive oil.

At Clover Gordes @clovergordes , on the terrace of Airelles La Bastide, the oil arrives in a wicker basket and someone walks you through each bottle before you choose. I took my time. It was one of the best part of the meal. @airellesgordes

Below the terrace, the whole Luberon valley. On the lawn, a croquet set waiting for the afternoon. Then the stone lanes, steep and narrow, all the way down from the square.

📍 GORDES, la Glamour.

Come up for the view. Stay for the table.

Paris is easier when someone has already made the decisions for you.

I rewrote my PARIS digital travel guide for 2026.

Five days, each one divided into morning, afternoon and evening, arrondissement by arrondissement. A chapter on Vintage Paris with the addresses I go back to. And a Christmas in Paris section: the markets, the ice rinks, the lights.

Which arrondissement would you stay in?

The 2026 guide lives in my bio.

The same iron oxide that turns Mars red colours every wall in this Provence village.

Welcome to ROUSSILLON, in the heart of the Luberon, one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France.

I’ve walked a lot of villages in Provence, and I thought I knew what to expect from this one. Then the lanes started changing colour: ochre, rust, apricot, rose, every wall a different shade of the same earth.

A gallery door left open to the street. Wicker picnic baskets stacked in a shop doorway. And from the edge of the village, the rooftops and the bell tower rising out of the trees.

Whether you come for the colour, the ochre trail or a slow lunch on a terrace, ROUSSILLON stays with you. Wear something light: the dust here is red, and it follows you home.

Have you walked the ochre trail, or only the village?
