A STORY THAT'S HARD TO TELL IN A 3 MINUTE REEL...

This one meant a lot 🙏 With unusually low rainfall the rivers were stagnant upstream and access was restricted. While we'd missed some eats or pulled hooks on decent Spottail Bass we were yet to put one on deck. We'd scoped this tiny coastal days earlier downstream from land and with obvious groundwater make and flow, decided to try it, unsure if we were nuts or there was indeed fish up higher...

Getting in took hours and we were making a lot of noise yet despite the machetes still swinging at the stern this thing peels out and crunches the little Pacemaker propbait on the 661 (the lightest rod we take), and it's all worthwhile...

Big topwater Papuan Black Bass in a small coastal system 🙏 Turned the Go Pro (already recording) off rather than hindsight on sadly but at least we got the eats!

What a season! 🔥

117 over the metre, including 1 x 130, 12 x 120s and 21 x 110s. Capping it off with another 120 on the buzzer to close it out was a pinch me moment.

A new PB of 132cm and memories to last a lifetime.

A big shout-out to the lads at @fishlogica — the full suite of Icon Series rods certainly did their part in getting every one of these fish to the deck. Couldn’t be happier with the gear and the support. 👊

Is it February yet? 🐟🤙 by @fishlogica

Dropped off the clients after a great morning and went back out for a quick one for an hour produced this horse have seen some big Barra but this one was built like a beach ball!

This was a 120+ Barramundi I caught back in January. So hard boating fish like this when your solo but it's so much fun.

Looking back I’m not sure what I could have done differently to land this fish, I think jamming him a bit harder when he struck might have helped but at the same time I got it right to the bank before it spat it.
Heart breaking but also very fun to get a bit of action for once.

Very nice to put the new combo to the test, certainly feels good under load.
Keen to have a bit more of a go at this and try and get one on the bank 👌

Pretty stoked to tick this one off the top. Probably the last of the main estuarine species I haven't ticked off on topwater. Had a couple of chances in the local before but things never went my way. 130 duo with some sticky 1/0 @bkkhooksaustralia EWG trebles doing the job

These things know how to fight getting absolutely towled up on the heavy setup locked drag decided to see what would happen if I went light and just played it a bit longer so I dropped down the @irukandji_tackle mega prawn on the @fishlogica FIC-661ml and sure enough the second it hits bottom gets smoked. It’s crazy how the less pressure you put on a fish the less they want to get you on the bottom. After a 5min fight up she came. Couple photos than back she went. Such a fun fight and so cool we can go from catching Barra in a river mouth to dropping down and hooking these beasts less then 5 minutes away from each other. by @fishlogica
