In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month
‘Voices Uncaged’ an event at the Flora Event Center with the purpose of bringing together artists, organizers, and community members to explore the powerful intersection of art & activism. Including Adult & Youth Art!

We aim to uplift the voices, experiences, & resilience of immigrant communities – particularly those impacted by detention, deportation, and harmful immigration policies. We will have free food, music, & resources. We hope that you will join us for a night of community and celebration of Hispanic Heritage!

Hello OKC and beyond,
Flora is asking for your help!

Due to unexpected circumstances blown in by this economic tornado, we are having to get creative as we try to weather the storm.

Flora has never had investment money or a bank loan but we are now in a position where we must reevaluate our strategy.

While we are still working on grants we know that will take time and given the sense of urgency, we are seeking a creative capital loan to get caught up.

Flora Bodega is asking you to invest in the shop we’ve built together. We understand the financial state for many in the country is rocky right now, but donations of any amount will go a long way in helping sustain what we have built.

Flora was able to flourish during the uncertainty of of 2020, and we would like to continue our part as an anchor for local farmers, local vendors, the arts, quality food in our neighborhood.

Not only do we love the work we do, we also believe that Oklahoma City is better because of it. If you agree please consider donating and sharing this message far and wide.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 which would fund investment work in the Flora Bodega shop and the adjoining community Event Space. This will cover the first installment of investment money we expected, including $6000 to repair plumbing and completely finish the event space.

We love the work we do! 🤝
And thanks for everything you all already have done!

‘Home Trashed’ Installation, Group Art Show
Curated by Angela Renee Chase
NOV 6 • 6-9pm • FRIDAY
A series in the collection of digital cellphone photography of human discarded objects against nature. ‘Home Trashed’ brings sight to what we pretend is unseen and unwanted, it humbles and invites all to witness a public sharing of the mundane in a reconfigured domestic setting and giving back.

Over the years, artists Angela Renee Chase & Ruth Loveland have shared the love of capturing back and forth in text, during walks, on trips, at the river, lake or creek. The human evidence is to be found, in its perfectly reckless placement, the trash somehow gives off a beauty to be captured, and acknowledged all at the same time.

This photo collection has expanded into a full shared album with a group other artists: Star Baby Heaven, Jared Power (Eat Bad Art), Jessica Longley, Claire Smith, Sophi Moon and the help of more art friends. It reinforces that we are not alone in this observatory trash world. ‘Home Trash’ invites everyone in on the public secret. Traditional framed photography of cellphone images wager the “worth” in a new format. Installation of trashy domestic art in excess and garbage is sweetened in its style and hospitality. by @flora_bodega
