sEhnsucht is a German noun that roughly translates to "longing," "yearning," or "craving". However, it is an untranslatable, deeply emotive concept representing an inconsolable, bittersweet yearning for something distant, unattainable, or even unnamable—a "sickness caused by yearning".

No other state for me in America has captured that feeling so well other than Montana, specifically in the eastern prairies. Since I was a kid, I had dreamed of the wide open expanses out in Big Sky Country, and had the opportunity to visit last year for 5 days. I felt I didnt have enough time in the Treasure State, so I booked myself a solid 7 days in what is arguably America's most peaceful hidden corner. It took a solid 8 hours to get here from Orlando, including a couple hours in Denver, but United Airlines has never let me down, and it was worth every minute spent on the plane. This is part 1 of a 7 part weekly Montana rEtrEat reels series I will be posting both here and on @club_e_fl, and I invite you to follow along with my journey across the Best State of the Northwest.

Part 6 of the 7 Part @club_e_fl Montana rEtrEat Series: the Beartooth Highway & Custer National Forest. This was one of the most exciting places I have filmed this year, and I am happy to share some highlights of this beautiful landscape. The entrance to the Beartooth Highway is one hour outside Billings through Yellowstone and Carbon Counties' beautiful farming and ranching communities in the small town of Red Lodge.

Introducing the long awaited Part 5 of my Montana Trip last June! Due to personal reasons, my mountain of footage from Billings took me a lot more time to process than I anticipated. The Club E crew apologizes for any inconvenience during our hibernation. Here's the highlights of my hike along Riverfront Park, one of the best places to get access to the Yellowstone River in Billings Montana. Just crystal clear waters, lush trees, trail magic and peaceful rapids. ✌🏻

In Part 5 of the @club_e_fl Montana rEtrEat, I pull off the side of the freeway and get some hiking in around the Hell Creek Formation: a world-renowned, fossil-rich geological deposit spanning ~66–68 million years ago. Montana's freeways are absolute gems for the fact that you can actually pull off and hit a real trailhead all while embarking on a 3 hour road trip.

This was one of my most fun days of 2026 so far. Last June I flew out to Eastern Montana, and took an afternoon to go golfing and chill out at the lake. Cottonwood Country Club, just outside of town, was like something out of Wii Sports. I hate being rushed on the course because I prefer to take in the wide open scenery, which is why rural public country clubs like these are the best. As a small town of around 10,000 people, @discoverglendive has a lot more fun things to do in the Great Outdoors, quirky roadside stops, and epic sunsets.

$Hiraeth is a Welsh word with no direct English translation. It describes a deep, poignant longing or homesickness for a home, time, or place that is lost, irretrievable, or may never have truly existed. It blends nostalgia with a bittersweet grief for the past. In Part 3 of the 7 Part @club_e_fl Montana rEtrEat Series, I compressed 3 hours or so of the best highlights and footage of my hike in the Badlands of Montana's Makoshika State Park, set to the tune of one of my favorite songs from my hike that Wednesday in early June. The way the sunlight cut through the clouds and reflected over the badlands added a layer of magic when sped up to a timelapse that absolutely no filter or editing could do justice. I had a lot of fun hiking the trails, they were well maintained like most Montana State Parks I have been fortunate enough to visit. My leg is still sore from all the miles of hiking, golfing, and walking I did on my entire 7 day journey to Big Sky Country, but I take it as a personal challenge to continue staying in the Great Outdoors as someone who is now 4 years recovered from a right trimellolar ankle fracture. My summer is just getting started, and I hope you're all making the most out of yours! #USAsummer #Badlands #Hiking #MakoshikaStatePark #Montana Club E is a nationwide community for Rugged Individualists who balance high-energy House Music with a Sustainable Lifestyle.
