🥾 *CAMP BLANDING IS OPEN — BUT A PERMIT IS REQUIRED!* Good news for Florida Trail hikers! The Florida Trail through Camp Blanding (Map 17) has reopened after a lengthy closure. However, access is now *by permit only* and all hikers must complete the required registration process before entering. Here's what you need to know: ✅ Create a free account at https://blanding.isportsman.net ✅ Complete the required FDLE background check (for civilians and DoD dependents; youth 17 and under are exempt). ✅ Complete all required safety briefings and acknowledgments. ✅ Once approved, purchase the required permit through iSportsman. ✅ Check in to receive the current gate code. If parking at the trailhead, print your permit and display it on your vehicle's dashboard. ⚠️ Please follow all posted signs, access rules, and permit requirements. This section is an important connection along the Florida Trail, and maintaining access depends on hikers following Camp Blanding's guidelines. Unauthorized access could jeopardize future trail access. Before your hike, read the full instructions, including guest registration requirements and additional guidelines: 🔗 Full details: https://floridatrail.org/9-1-26-map-17-camp-blanding-re-opened-with-permit-required/ 🔗 Camp Blanding iSportsman / Florida Trail information: https://blanding.isportsman.net/FLTrailInfo.aspx Help us protect this important section of the Florida Trail by being prepared and following the rules. WHO ARE WE? We're the Guardians of the Orange Blaze. Every time someone steps on the Florida National Scenic Trail, they're experiencing something bigger than a hike. They're experiencing the result of thousands of volunteer hours, decades of dedication, and a community that believes Florida's wild places are worth protecting. That's what the Florida Trail Association is all about. 🥾 BUILD the trail that connects people to wild Florida. 🌿 MAINTAIN the path, so the next adventure is always possible. 🛡️ PROTECT the trail and the wild places it goes through. 📣 PROMOTE outdoor experiences and inspire more people to hike Florida. We're the staff & volunteers who clear the path, the hikers who explore it, the advocates who stand up for it, and the people who believe everyone deserves a place to find adventure in nature. 60 years since the first blaze, we're still building more than trails. We're building connections, community, and a legacy for generations to come. That's who we are. That's the Florida Trail Association. ️ Join us. 🧡 by @floridatrail

🥾 Jim’s Still Blazing the Trail. Follow His Lead. In 1966, Jim Kern founded the Florida Trail Association with a vision: a continuous footpath the length of Florida. Nearly 60 years later, he’s still asking us to join him. 🔥 BLAZE: FTA’s Next Chapter is a community awareness campaign to introduce more people to the Florida Trail and the work it takes to build, maintain, protect, and promote it. Jim is putting his money behind that vision. Jim will match the next $20,000 donated to BLAZE — dollar for dollar. That means your $50 becomes $100. Your $500 becomes $1,000. Together, we can turn $20,000 into $40,000 for the trail we love. Jim’s message is simple: Support the idea. Support the trail. Tell someone about the Florida Trail and bring them into our community. 🔥 FOLLOW JIM’S LEAD. DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT. Donate while matching funds remain: 👉 floridatrail.org/KernCampaign ✍️ You can also add your voice by signing Jim’s letter to elected officials and asking them to learn more about the Florida National Scenic Trail and its future: 👉 change.org/KernCampaign Give. Sign. Share. Bring someone into the community. The next chapter of the Florida Trail starts with all of us. #FloridaTrail #FloridaTrailAssociation #BuildingMoreThanTrails #HikeFlorida #NationalScenicTrail by @floridatrail

A little secret we’re taking to the trail… 🤫 New items are coming, but they won’t hit the shop until next week. Until then, we’ll be out here eating candy on the trail and pretending we’re not showing them off. 👀 #Florida #Hiking #GetOutside #newmerchdrop #merch by @floridatrail
