POSTS STORIES REELS

We have a lot of new faces here so thought I’d share a bit about me and my sweet Lyla.

Lyla is my flower sniffing Pitty, and I’m her Mama.

We get asked all the time when this all started, and she’s sought out flowers since the day we brought her home.

Fast forward to this past spring, I opened this account to see where it might take us, and it’s brought some of the most lovely people into our lives- and we started growing dahlias for gifting through the @growingkindnessproject

Lyla has quite literally led me to this life changing spot in my life, where growing these flowers are healing in ways I never thought possible.

Lyla enjoyes baked potato season (summer) cuddle season (fall) more cuddles and sniffing season (winter- as she enjoys sniffing the beginnings of spring) and flower sniffing season (spring).

We also enjoy local farmers markets, home cooked meals, book club (always happy to share what I’m reading), community, and camping to name a few things.

She is a magnet to everyone who meets her, and through her and flowers, we enjoy spreading joy and happiness to others.

You matter, the sun will continue to rise, and life can be beautiful.

Cheers sweet friends.

From 44 vet visits in her first 22 months… to a dog who is finally thriving. My Flower Sniffing Pitty.

Thank you for being here, and for following along on my journey with the heart that walks beside me on four legs.

My girl who insists on stopping to sniff the flowers, even if they’re across the street.

The moment I laid eyes on Lyla, I knew she was the one meant to complete our family.

After bringing her home, I contacted the rescue who saved her in Texas and eventually found the foster mom who cared for her before she made her way to the Pacific Northwest. I wanted to know everything about her, the journey that brought her here, and the people who loved and cared for her before I ever met her.

To this day, her foster mom and I still stay in touch.

I’m always sending little updates and photos of Lyla’s adventures, because she will always be part of Lyla’s story.

I also hope this page finds its way to rescues and fosters who sometimes feel like giving up. I hope they see what their life-saving work becomes — the quiet, beautiful lives that grow from the dogs they fought so hard to protect.

Here I hope you find a love for pitties.

This page will be all about the love Lyla and I share, holistic care, advocacy, and all the flower sniffing.

To the dog moms who get told they’re “doing too much”…

I see you.

The ones who plan their days around walks, meals, and routines.

The ones who research, ask questions, and advocate when something doesn’t feel right.

The ones who stay home when their dog isn’t feeling well.

The ones who love deeply.

Even when others don’t understand it.

This isn’t “too much.”
This is care. This is connection.

This is what motherhood looks like for some of us. 🐾

Wow. Awe. Life Changing.

Here a few last blooms I’ve grown this season.

For those who have been here since March have seen how transformative these blooms have been. From ripping out the hedge (in the dahlia highlight) to squealing when the first shoots came up.

This is all because of Lyla, she literally led me to the amazing flower growing community.

I attended the @growingkindnessproject retreat this summer and felt like I was in the right spot, with amazing community and connection.

I’ve gone into taking a leap of faith and signed me AND Lyla up for the Flower Farming Workshop that spans over 6 weeks this winter through @floretflower

I’m loving this new direction life is taking me, and this wouldn’t have happened with out Deanna gifting me 10 tubers this past April, and most of all @dragonflybloomswa tenderly taking my hand and sharing their knowlage of growing dahlias with me. They also shared many tubers with me to grow, then more to gift to friends of mine to grow.

Cheers sweet friends ✨

why are dogs so special?

they are our constant.

no matter what a day may bring.

they are there for it all.

for the quiet, and chaos.

through uncertainty, and loss.

they are always there.

and I think that’s what makes our bonds so special with our dogs.

wanted to share some beauty.

fresh blue skies.

gorgeous pumpkins at @gordonskagitfarms

a little slice of something good.

something ordinary, yet not all at the same time.

Lyla has brought so much good into my life, and we are in the beginnings of planning our @growingkindnessproject cut flowers, along with so much more.

cheers to mis October friends.

Cheers to September.

The month that brings my favorite season, to pulling out our sweaters, soaking in last drops of summer, and crisp mornings.

Lyla insists on stopping by the mini rose garden on our walks, and I think this is a sign she needs her own little rose plant.

We have so enjoyed the farmers markets, and continuing to gift dahlias, stopping by farm stands for flowers, and checking out our favorite pet store.

A highlight was finding a little bumble bee sleeping in one of the dahlias on evening 🥰🐝

year one of growing dahlias. I never thought anything like this could be possible, as anything in the past that I’ve tried to grow from the soil up has failed.

but these had other plans and have flourished- even if the blooms arrived quite late.

it’s a lovely journey and I’m so glad that I’ve been able to start gifting bouquets. It’s remarkable, and I can’t quite put how meaningful this is into words.

The photo of Lyla is her taking in the begging of fall a few weeks ago. She’s so intune with the seasons.
