WE are BLACK HISTORY (🚨long post alert):

Last weekend, as a student pilot/mentee 👩🏾‍✈️I had the pleasure of attending my first (of many) Sisters of the Skies Scholarship Gala in Charlotte, NC, and it was a PHENOMENAL experience! I sat in a room of extraordinary women and pioneers in aviation, who look like ME (representation matters) and furthermore have gone before me to pave the way!

There’s nearly 700,000 pilots in the USA 🇺🇸 and Black women make up LESS than 300 (less than 1%)!

This journey has already proven to be arduous and as a mentee of @sistersoftheskies, I am beyond empowered to continue to believe in myself, push through adversity and stand on business (even if my voice shakes), all while being a recipient of selfless mentors (and fellow student pilot sisters)who render their wisdom, guidance, accountability and sisterhood!

Congrats to👏🏾:
-Our co-founder/1st Black Female Pilot in the @usairforce (@theresaclaiborne) for her remarkable accomplishments in the aviation industry and upcoming retirement as an Airline Pilot!

-My Soror/JetBlue Crew-member @ontheflymommy for being an SOS scholarship recipient👏🏾…It’s a blessing to be on this journey to the FLIGHT DECK with you!

Hey y’all 👋🏾☺️!

Whew, these past few months had been filled with transitions (leaving NYC was hard🥺), uncertainty, tests, lessons and blessings. Through it all, God sustained me and I chose to set my intentions on showing GRATITUDE and SURRENDERING to HIS will (it wasn’t easy, but certainly worth it)!

I’m grateful for the indescribable PEACE I feel in this season, for the answered prayers🙏🏾 (I showed up and God showed OUT), for my TRIBE(those who covered me in prayer/checked on me) and the reassurance in knowing that ‘Everything is working for my Good’…it’s ⬆️ from here💫🛫🙏🏾.

At the beginning of 2023, I promised myself I’d make Island 🏝️ hopping a part of my self care…I love that I get to work and play at the SAME time!

✅: Aruba 🇦🇼 (21 hour layover 💙✈️🧡)
Next up Bahamas 🇧🇸 (vacation mode loading)
