SINGAPORE MATCHA WRAPPED 2025 🍵💚 Your yearly reminder that bland matcha is a crime. Tip: always order no sugar for max boldness, max depth. ⸻ EAST 🍵 Koffee Kollective — 🚇 Tanah Merah 📍 57 New Upper Changi Rd, #01-1340 As an eastie… painful truth: the east is kinda matcha-dry 😭 BUT this is the rare exception. Thick, creamy cold-whisk matcha with clean layers, rich mouthfeel, and an extensive matcha/coffee menu. Solid heartland fave. Frosted by Fang — 🚇 MacPherson / Tai Seng 📍 4 Upper Aljunied Ln, #01-02 Smooth, deep traditional whisk matcha in a cozy space with seasonal bakes. Deep green, homely vibes. ⸻ CENTRAL 🍵 Calligraph Coffee — 🚇 Bugis 📍 7 Fraser St, #01-57 Duo Galleria Solid Japanese blends with real umami and nuttiness. Safe pick, never fails. Hi Coffee — 🚇 Tanjong Pagar 📍 Guoco Tower (relocating 2026) Two blends, simple but impactful. Bold mouthfeel, queues worth it. FOC oatmilk SLAY. //waterloo.coffee — 🚇 Bugis 📍 261 Waterloo St, 01-22 Pricey but worth it. Cutest canned matcha, rich, aesthetic, wild flavours that just work. ⸻ NE matcha still on my list — Fatto Catto looks insane but review pending 👀🍵 I PUT IN SM EFFORT INTO THIS PLS LIKE🥲🙏🏻 by @foodiewolfie21
Matcha showdown ❗️Decided to just wait no patiently and clump all 3 tgt to compare and contrast rather than individually post BUT BRO NVR IN MY LIFE I SPENT SO LONG EDITING A POST MAN IT’S TIRING TO PUT IN SM EFFORT LOL and it’s not even good 😭😭😭 Ok but the fun and satisfaction to try them all and tick off my list but can I get some funding for my matcha feed 🥹🥹🥹 1. Wooly’s bagel strawberry matcha ($7.50) - very pretty but very sweet, tasted like just strawberry milk only but towards the end can taste both somewhat equally, but wasted potential ahh, the matcha was actually rlly good, rich smooth and creamy, sweetness just right, maybe next time just get matcha alone or like change their ratio to 80/20 matcha to strawberry milk instead of the what they’re doing now coz idt you wanna pay for drinking strawberry milk but still rlly good effort tho 2. Spring coffee spring signature matcha ($8.00) - matcha was strong, no sugar by default, bitter but mixed well with milk (quite strong tho) like I actually think it’s a good matcha just idt I can drink finish and ok maybe not the MOST perfect whisked smoothness but that’s rlly if you’re gonna nitpick at it ah but still good effort 3. Cafe usagi TOKYO ceremonial uji matcha oatmilk latte ($10.30) - Oatmilk was not as strong and quite subtle, idt they use oatside for maybe oatly, paired smoothly with matcha, not too cloying (I could finish this better than spring) no sugar sweetness just right, overall a good quality matcha, rich smooth and milky (maybe on the pricier side) Other side reviews: - the bagel was vvv oily which I didn’t rlly like, I didn’t know it was just spam so like when I realised I was like oh😐salty and quite dry😔the scramble eggs also quite flat, tho it was served pipping hot which I like but overall was rlly salty and oily, keens still top imo🆙🆙🆙 - the ice cream tasted just like normal strawberry ice cream imo and quite sweet also, nth special ngl not worth the price 💔 - the Madeline was great! Crispy on the edges, soft and moist inside. Not overly oily, the perfect balance of baked perfection and it’s so cute also !!! 😆😆😆 Anyways thanks for reading, imma zhao, ciao 😗✌🏻 by @foodiewolfie21
Matcha showdown but only 2 ☹️ pls send love and support 🥹 📍 @chaffic_singapore artistinal interesting tofu inspired bbt drink shop in west 🌾🍡Matcha mochi tofu soy milk latte ($6.50) 0% sugar - not your regular QQ chewy bouncy mochi but your melty, silky, sticky mochi? - It’s similar to liho matcha taro mochi that mochi but even - vv interesting texture and experience ngl, soy can be quite overpowering tho, vv sweet soya milk flavour - Matcha was strong at first then it just gets cancel out almost completely where I’m just overall drinking a silky stick sweet soy milk mochi drink - I mean I’m not complaining? As someone who rlly loves soy milk, this actually hits, but maybe looks rlly pretty with the layering and matcha but not your matcha drink - love the shop interior too btw, super study aesthetic vibes 📍 @creamie.sippies pop up Thank you for not needing to travel to the west love Taka 🍵🍌 Matcha banana pudding ($9.90) 0% sugar - lowkey seen alot of mixed reviews like it’s like the 2 extremes — either you hate it or love it and honestly I’m on team I’m liking it :) - At first I tot it was quite little banana pudding but it was all over the drink - Vv big slices of bananas and banana infused cream had rlly prominent banana flavour, soft and moist lady finger sponge kind - Matcha was smooth and had the slight earthy flavour to it still, paired well and could distinctly taste both blending tgt - Only complain was the ice cubes were inconsistent sine were rlly small and icy that I had to keep crunching on ice cubes which kinda ruined the smoothness and drinkability of the drink yk - In my humble opinion, I prefer this over sweedy’s one, I just feel like it balances out each other more by @foodiewolfie21
I AM RAVENOUS HOLY 😭 PLEASE SWIPE LONG READ HEH Didn’t have time for lunch, so by dinner I was genuinely ready to DEVOUR anything in sight. Finally made my way to Lola’s and decided to get their dinner set ($28), with a couple of add-ons because apparently being hungry means I have zero self-control HAHA. The dinner set came with a main, drinks and desserts, and I also couldn’t resist ordering a few extras. I was honestly expecting a pretty substantial meal, but I wasn’t prepared for just HOW GENEROUS the portions were. By the time I was halfway through, I was already questioning my life choices 💀 Anyway, here’s the full breakdown! 🌟Squid Ink Paella (+$3.50) First off, this was definitely eye-catching and quite different from the usual paella. Most paellas I’ve had are more moist, saucy and almost wet, but this leaned towards the drier side — think crispy, crunchy rice. I can see this being a little polarising, but personally, I didn’t mind it! The squid ink flavour was surprisingly prominent, with a distinctly oceanic, fishy taste. I actually appreciated this because so many squid ink dishes barely taste of anything beyond a salty, creamy sauce. This one really brought out that seafood flavour. They were also quite generous with the squid, which was crispy on the outside and chewy within. The prawns were pretty sizeable too, while the salmon bites added another textural element, although they were slightly dry. I did wish there was more lime to brighten everything up and add some moisture. Despite enjoying the flavour, the combination of dry rice and intense seafood notes became a little cloying towards the end. Not bad, but definitely quite heavy! Miso Maple Charred Brussels Sprouts ($12) I LOVE Brussels sprouts, especially when they’re nicely charred, and I did enjoy the crispy bits, but OMG these were SWEET. The miso maple glaze was really prominent, and personally, I’d prefer more char and less sauce. The garlic sauce was surprisingly nice though! I think this would work better as a sharing dish, especially since the sweetness can get a little overwhelming after a few bites. Roasted Rosemary & Lemon Chicken The chicken was unfortunately a l by @foodiewolfie21
LOOOK AT MY SHOOTSSS HEHEHE 🌟 ANOTHER ONE OFF THE EVER-GROWING WISHLIST 😭 I swear I’m speed-running this list at this point HAHA. Finally got to try this pizza place I’ve been eyeing for the longest time, especially these TWO dishes! 🌟 Five Some Pizza with honey (+$7 Burrata) $28 Fior di latte, cheddar, parmesan, blue cheese, honey FIRST OF ALL, THAT BURRATA. GORGEOUSLY HUGE. The amount of cheese was genuinely overwhelming in the best way possible 😭 As a certified cheese lover, I was VERY happy. Made with four types of cheese, each bringing something different. The blue cheese especially had quite a punch initially, but surprisingly grew on me! It had this sweet, savoury and slightly chewy combination, while the burrata itself was incredibly creamy and moist, although relatively mild in flavour. It can get pretty rich and jelat, so definitely better for sharing, but I surprisingly could’ve demolished the whole thing myself HAHAHA. 🌟 Mentaiko Mac & Cheese Real crab meat, cheddar, mozzarella, mentaiko sauce, tobiko Portion looked abit small, but surprisingly filling! The flavour combination was really interesting lowkey almost like takoyaki to me, probably thanks to the bonito flakes. Pasta was nicely al dente, although personally I would’ve loved a little more char on top. The upper layer leaned sweeter and more savoury from the mentaiko, while the bottom was cheesier. The tobiko added another layer of richness and umami too. Overall, really enjoyed this! The location at Farrer Park was quite a vibe too! Connected to the LYF building, with a spacious interior and even a bar like imagine coming here for a little day drinking HAHA. One thing to note: pizza orders only start from 12PM, so don’t make the same mistake as me and arrive at 11AM expecting to order 😭 Ended up studying while waiting. Overall, a pretty solid pizza spot with interesting combinations and generous flavours. Definitely glad I finally ticked this one off my wishlist! 😆 by @foodiewolfie21
some of my CLEANEST shots yet 🥹🤎 and finally… GAIA’S ACAI THICK YOGURT SERIES!!! 📍 @gaiaacai.sg @ Braddell I’ve been seeing this all over my FYP for the longest time and FINALLY got to try it! The journey was abit chaotic, rushed from school, squeezed in an appointment and worked on my group project WHILE eating HAHAHA. It was also PACKED, especially with all the Raffles girls around! But honestly? I can see why it’s been getting so much attention. A little pricier than your usual acai bowl, but I genuinely enjoyed this! 🖤 Black Sesame Thick Yogurt Bowl — $15.80 Medium acai ($14.80 + $1 for acai base), black sesame thick yogurt, blueberries, sea salt chocolate granola, cocoa sesame crumbles and almond butter drizzle. First off, Gaia’s acai is consistently SO GOOD. Definitely one of the better acai bases I’ve tried. The star was the black sesame thick yogurt, SUPER thick yet fluffy, with a distinct but subtle nutty flavour. Honestly reminded me of those traditional Chinese New Year nut bars?? If you get what I mean HAHA. The toppings complemented it really well too! Sea salt chocolate granola added a lovely crunch with a subtle sweet-savoury contrast, while the cocoa sesame crumbles were surprisingly crisp and crumbly instead of soggy. Loved that they retained their texture and brought out even more of that roasted, nutty flavour. The almond butter drizzle was another win as one of my favourite pairings with acai! Only little wish was for MORE FRUITS 😭 There were only around 2–3 blueberries, and I would’ve loved more fruity freshness to balance the richness. Compared to a conventional acai bowl, the fruit portion felt abit limited. Otherwise, the combination of textures, flavours and colours was genuinely lovely. Thick, fluffy, crunchy, creamy and nutty, such a fun little sensory experience! THANKFULLY, I managed to catch the black sesame flavour I’d been eyeing because their flavours rotate daily! Still curious about the hojicha, blueberry and matcha strawberry versions, so hopefully I’ll get to try more on another visit hehe. Overall, I can definitely understand the hype. Already excited to see what other combinations they come up with next 🤎 by @foodiewolfie21
a little food trip dump ~ + exclusive vids 📍 Kedai BKT Hin Hock Tried the traditional Malaysian herbal-style bak kut teh! Very different from Singapore’s peppery version but this was SUPER herbal, almost like drinking straight herbal soup HAHA. Enjoyed it, though I’d still prefer our peppery broth with crispy youtiao. 🌟The highlight was the HUGE piece of steamed fish, super tender and loaded with garlic and garnishes. Also, hot take: I LOVE fish skin 😭 Had the cutest encounter with a cat with gorgeous amber-green eyes too! Washed off some fish to feed it and bro kept staring at me for more 🥹 📍Cold Stone Mud Pie Mojo Finally tried Cold Stone after wanting to for ages! Brownie, chocolate + coffee ice cream, fudge and peanut butter… basically a Snickers bar in ice cream form 💀 Got the full size with a waffle for extra crunch, and somehow SOLO DEVOURED THE WHOLE THING despite being full from lunch HAHA. 📍 Kejimoto Cafe Finally visited this viral café! Watermelon Matcha (Oat Milk, No Sugar): Was abit skeptical, but surprisingly refreshing! More like a watermelon juice slushy with a pretty strong creamy matcha taste than a milky matcha latte. Unagi Ochazuke: Comforting, umami-rich broth with tender, sweet-savoury unagi. I just love how each broth is so similar yet distinct with the umaminess, yet clean. 🌟Hojicha Basque Cheesecake with Matcha Sea Salt Cream: THE HIGHLIGHT ! LOOK AT THAT THICKNESS 😭 Super dense, rich and creamy, with a softer, almost melty centre and firmer edges. Beautifully balanced between sweet, nutty roasted hojicha notes and the slightly salty, prominent matcha cream that cuts through the richness. Genuinely SO GOOD. Definitely one I’ll be thinking about for awhile, I love basque cheesecake Overall, a fun little food trip with plenty of good finds, a sugar overload and one VERY memorable cheesecake🌟 by @foodiewolfie21
a little post birthday appreciation post 🎂💗 *late* Hope y’all don’t see this as narcissistic, I really don’t mean it that way ! 😖 Genuinely thought it was going to be a simple day-out date with my boyfriend after coming back from Japan, so imagine my SURPRISE when I found out he had been planning, organising and hosting this whole birthday party for me 🥹 From the ridiculously rich and boozy tiramisu (literally birthday-cake-sized and double the booze… probably the boosiest thing I’ve ever eaten HAHA), 📍@tmizus_sg to the 📍@anacaiaffair DIY acai and matcha stations, card games, board games and just catching up with everyone it was such a fun and memorable day. And of course, the gifts were SO thoughtful too, even if my room is now a little more colourful and very much crammed HAHAHA 😭💗 Most importantly, I’m really happy everyone got along and that we could all share such a lovely time together. And those who couldn’t make it thank you still for your well wishes ! To my boyfriend, thank you for putting so much thought and effort into making this happen, and to everyone who came, thank you for celebrating with me and making my birthday so special. I genuinely appreciate every single one of you 🥹🫶🏻 just a little collage of a day I’ll remember for a long time. love y’all lots 💗 by @foodiewolfie21
@bloomboomsg 🌸 One of the fanciest cafés I’ve been to, tucked away on the rooftop of Bugis+! SO floral, vintage and giving full-on wedding vibes 🥹💐 Afternoon tea with, my bestie, and a LONG overdue catch-up, tea time is from 10.30am to 6.30pm. Also I AM VV PROUD OF MY SHOTS PLS 😭 The flower arrangements, close-up details and composition AHHH. Had way too much fun taking photos here hehe. ❀ Hot Osmanthus Latte ($8.50) Surprisingly pleasant! Subtle floral notes with a mellow coffee aroma. Very gentle, cosy and soothing — one of those drinks that feels comforting to both the stomach and mind ❀ Gâteau Basque Cheesecake ($12.80) As you can tell, I’m REALLY addicted to cheesecake HAHA. Pretty presentation, thick and cheesy without being too gelat, with just the right amount of sweetness. Loved the contrast between the dense cheesecake and the slightly tangy, creamy layer that added moisture and balanced everything out. ❀ Chocolate Cake ($13.80) Looks simple but pretty! Fluffy cake layers with chocolate cream. Nothing particularly groundbreaking, but a solid classic. ❀ Orange Chocolate Without Orange ($8.50) Friend doesn’t like caffeine OR fruit HAHAHA, so we went with a plain hot chocolate option. Simple and fuss-free! Overall, such a pretty spot for a slow afternoon, good conversations and lots of photos. Very classy, romantic, vintage vibes, definitely somewhere I’d visit for the ambience and a proper catch-up 🌷💗 by @foodiewolfie21
📍SBDC Korean Rice House @ Suntec 🇰🇷 Saw this on socials awhile back and have walked past it SO many times at Suntec, finally decided to try it! Imagine a salad bowl but sinful and unhealthy HAHAHA. Literally a LOADED bowl with everything imaginable 😭 Truffle Jjimdak Chicken K-Bob ($11.80) Rice + glass noodles, dried radish, lettuce, kimchi, egg, tofu, vegetarian mandu, corn & fish ham cream, truffle jjimdak chicken, truffle + spicy chilli mayo, chicken floss and more. Lowkey expected it to be pricier, so $11.80 for THIS much food is pretty worth it! Just nice and filling too. The complimentary tteokbokki was firm and chewy, while the vegetarian mandu was crispy on the outside and generously filled inside, vv yummy! The Samyang noodles were abit overcooked but SO flavourful HAHA. The chicken surprised me because it wasn’t deep-fried, yet was tender, juicy and meaty! Almost felt healthier HAHAHA 💀 The glass noodles added variety but were abit too soft for my liking. Loved all the veggies and the WHOLE egg too. Truffle wasn’t very prominent, but every component was so flavourful in its own way, yet somehow worked so well together?? The Korean yoghurt drink was a nice way to cool down after all that flavour, just wish it were bigger hehe. Seoul Bulgogi Beef K-Bob ($13.80) Rice + glass noodles, dried radish, lettuce, kimchi, egg, tofu, vegetarian mandu, corn & fish ham cream, bulgogi beef, gochujang + bulgogi sauce, onion mayo, onion flakes and more. SWEET SWEET HAHA 😭 Still yummy though! Think classic bibimbap-style flavours but with a sweeter bulgogi twist. There are SO many other combinations too, including fish flavours, and I was genuinely spoilt for choice. Overall, generous portions, lots of different textures and flavours, and pretty worth it for the price. Would recommend trying if you’re around Suntec! by @foodiewolfie21
📍@yochi Obviously had to end the day with Yo-Chi because I MISS IT and I’m basic like that 😭 - It’s been forever since I last got their brownies! I think I first tried them when I went all out on my very first Yo-Chi bowl. Nowadays my bowls are usually only $5–6 because I mostly go for new flavours or toppings I really want to try. Expensive and arguably not the healthiest, but do I care when it tastes good? 💀 - My friend pretty swirls coz expert. - The new flavour I tried was GOOD. Honestly, I liked it more than the peach one! It leaned more spice-forward with creamy, tangy notes like not spicy-spicy, just warm and spiced. Definitely a flavour profile I enjoyed. - The brownie was indulgent, so I got a smaller slice this time. The banana crackling was a little funky, though. I expected banana chips, but it was more like a crispy cracker with banana flavour. Not my favourite. - The blueberry chia pudding was nice! And of course, my usual go-tos are the jams and signature tart. Strawberry is great for that fruity, tangy contrast too. BUT OMG, I NEED YO-CHI TO RELEASE MORE FLAVOURS 😭 I saw the cinnamon banana iced latte bowl in Australia and HELLO??? Why are we not getting this?! Me and my friend genuinely love coming up with random Yo-Chi flavour combinations. I’m not even kidding when I say I probably have 50+ ideas pitched to my friends already. YO-CHI, PLEASE HIRE ME FOR FLAVOUR DEVELOPMENT. I HAVE IDEAS. 🤝 post-Japan food recovery journey First meal back in Singapore was DEPRIVED of local Chinese food and anything that wasn’t Japanese HAHAHA 😭 2 besties with 2 camera quality and angles were fighting for their lives but the food journey must go on 📍 @gunkeeclaypot @chinatown I’d seen this place on TikTok quite a bit, so we finally decided to try it! Didn’t expect it to be TWO STORIES, and we even got the entire second floor to ourselves. Apparently it’s a China-based chain too, which I didn’t know! SO MANY DISHES to choose from, but let’s talk about the big three ~ Honghu Lotus Root withSuperior Pork Broth - Not gonna lie, the broth was THICK and concentrated! The lotus root was softer than I expected, though I personally prefer that nian ni by @foodiewolfie21
📍 @ladym.sg Lady M @ Jewel Changi Airport FINALLY TRYING LADY M AFTER ALL THESE YEARS 😭💸 I still remember when they closed down and I was SO DEVASTATED because they’re famous for their bougie crepe cakes, and I thought I’d lost my chance HAHA. Thankfully they reopened, but somehow took me THIS long to finally try them! Girls’ dinner between my two Japan trips, and man… these prices 💀ok at least the cake set is more worth??? I think Pistachio Mille Crêpes $14.50 - HELLO, $14.50 FOR A SLICE?! 😭 I’m honestly not the biggest crepe cake person because it’s mostly cream + thin layers, but I get that there’s a lot of effort involved. This was surprisingly nutty and I actually quite enjoyed it! Half-half with my friend, though my cutting skills were absolutely HORRENDOUS HAHAHA. Taro Mochi Cake ($13.50) - A little disappointing ngl 🥹 I expected something thicker + more punchy, especially as a taro lover, but I guess Lady M’s concept leans more towards light, airy + subtle flavours. The mochi was also kinda funky — less chewy, more like a blob? Was hoping for more from this one. Signature Matcha Latte - This was interesting! Wasn’t sure what to expect, but the first sip immediately reminded me of KAYA?! Had that sweet, fragrant kaya-like flavour with matcha taking more of a backseat. Surprisingly enjoyed it because I LOVE kaya HAHA. Sakura Tea - Pretty decent, nothing particularly mind-blowing. Overall, definitely a bougie experience 💸 I’m glad I finally got to try Lady M and understand the hype, but for the price, I probably wouldn’t return. At least now I know what the standard is HAHA 😭 Funny story had an awful sore throat and lost of voice and still eating desserts for meals classic me oops🫪 by @foodiewolfie21
