Exploring the Culinary Heritage at Raj Bhawan, Dehradun for World Food Day! 🍽️✨

Today, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the stunning Raj Bhawan in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, for a special event organized by the Uttarakhand government in celebration of World Food Day. This beautiful heritage site, surrounded by lush greenery, was the perfect backdrop for an event that aimed to showcase our rich culinary traditions.

One of the highlights of my visit was meeting the esteemed Cabinet Minister, Shri Satpal Maharaj Ji, and the honorable Rajyapal of Uttarakhand, Shri Gurmit Singh Ji. Their passion for promoting Uttarakhand’s culture and cuisine was truly inspiring! It was heartwarming to see leaders who genuinely care about preserving and celebrating our local flavors.

During the event, the Uttarakhand government launched the much-anticipated Garhwali, Kumaoni, and Jaunsari pastries for the first time! 🎉 These delightful pastries are not just a treat for the taste buds but also a tribute to our traditional flavors. I had the chance to sample these mouthwatering delicacies, and I must say, they were an explosion of flavors that transported me back to my roots. Each bite was a reminder of the rich culinary heritage that our state has to offer.

I encourage everyone to explore these new pastries and support local cuisine. It’s not just about food; it’s about celebrating our culture and traditions. Let’s keep our culinary heritage alive!

As a food blogger, I have been fortunate enough to experience the culinary delights from all corners of the world. However, there are some experiences that leave an indelible mark on your taste buds and heart. The inauguration of the renowned Karigari Restaurant in Dehradun was one such experience, filled with love and an exquisite gastronomic journey.

The inauguration of Karigari Restaurant in Dehradun was not just an event; it was a celebration of love for food, art, and culture. It was a reminder that when passion meets craftsmanship, something extraordinary is born. I left the restaurant that day with a heart full of love and a promise to return, eager to embark on another culinary adventure in the land of karigari.

188 feet tall — North India's 3rd tallest Ravan, right here in Dehradun 🔥 Most people don't know Uttarakhand even builds Ravans this big for Dussehra. Tag someone who needs to see this before the season ends. 📍Parade Ground, Dehradun
Some celebrations are more than just festivals — they are a reminder that no matter how powerful evil may seem, good will always find its way. ✨🔥

And today, Dehradun is bringing that belief to life on a MASSIVE scale! ❤️

Imagine standing in the middle of Parade Ground, surrounded by thousands of people, the excitement in the air, the sound of celebrations all around you, and a **181-foot-tall Ravan towering over the city’s skyline.** 😍🔥

The 79th Dussehra Mahotsav is making history with what is being billed as Uttarakhand’s tallest-ever Ravan effigy, alongside 70-foot effigies of Kumbhkaran and Meghnad and an elaborate Lanka set.

But what makes Dussehra truly special isn’t just the size of the effigies or the grand celebrations.

It’s the feeling of coming together as a community. The joy on children’s faces, families celebrating traditions passed down through generations, and the collective excitement as everyone waits for that one unforgettable moment — Ravan Dahan. 🪔

In a world that keeps moving so fast, festivals like these remind us to pause, reconnect with our roots, and celebrate the stories that have been part of our culture for generations.

This is Dehradun beyond its mountains and cafés — a city full of traditions, celebrations, and stories worth experiencing. ❤️

📍 Parade Ground, Dehradun, Uttarakhand

Tell me — have you ever witnessed Ravan Dahan live, or is this still on your bucket list?👇

I didn’t expect to find a place like this in Dehradun. 🏔️💙
There’s a side of Dehradun that feels completely different from the city we usually see — and Maldevta is one of those places.
Tucked away in the beautiful hills of Uttarakhand, this hidden riverside spot has everything you could ask for on a peaceful day out — crystal-clear flowing water, huge green mountains, fresh air, and that untouched feeling that makes you want to stay a little longer. 🌿
For a moment, standing beside this river, it honestly felt like a little piece of Switzerland had somehow found its way to Dehradun. 🇨🇭
And the best part?
It’s still one of those places that many people visiting Dehradun don’t know about.
No fancy tourist attraction.
No elaborate setup.
Just mountains, a river, greenery and that peaceful Himalayan atmosphere. ✨
If you’re looking for hidden places in Dehradun, riverside places in Uttarakhand, peaceful places near Dehradun, budget-friendly travel spots, or beautiful places to escape the city, add Maldevta to your list.
This is the kind of place where you don’t need a big travel budget to have a beautiful experience.
Just go, slow down, sit beside the river, take in the mountains and enjoy the view. 💙

☕✨ Found another aesthetic spot in Dehradun that’s actually worth the hype!

📍 @readerscoffeehouse.ddn – Big Shot, Rajpur Road

Spent a cozy afternoon here, and everything just felt right—from the warm ambience to the coffee.

We tried:
☕ Cappuccino
🍝 Mix Sauce Pasta

Both were absolutely on point, and the total came to around **₹750 for two people**, making it a great pick for a casual coffee date or a catch-up with friends.

If you’re looking for a café with great vibes, good food, and a peaceful atmosphere on Rajpur Road, this one deserves a spot on your list. ❤️

There are cafes… and then there are places that feel like a story you’ll remember.

Yesterday in Dehradun, I walked into LouLou (by Danke) without expecting much… but this place instantly hits different. The aesthetics, the vibe, the calm energy — easily one of the most beautiful cafés in the city right now.

Ordered a cappuccino, tried their patisserie, and dumplings — and honestly, every bite felt premium. You know that rare feeling when a place gets both ambience and taste right? This is it.

But here’s the crazy part…

While I was soaking in the vibe, I spotted none other than @mahi7781 with his wife @sakshisingh_r r enjoying a quiet meal here. No chaos, just him enjoying the same space, same food. Couldn’t click a proper picture because of tight security, but managed to capture a moment when he was sitting in his car.

And I won’t lie — sitting in the same café, having food loved by Dhoni… that just made the whole experience even more special.

If you’re in Dehradun and love discovering aesthetic cafés, hidden gems, and premium food spots — LouLou needs to be on your list.

Save this for your next cafe visit, share it with your food partner, and tell me — would you visit this place?

There are some places that feel less like a destination and more like a prayer in motion. Mossy Fall in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand was exactly that for me — a hidden Shiva temple where water keeps flowing on the Shivling 24x7, and the sound of the river welcomes you right at the entrance.
I still remember standing there for a moment, just listening. The air felt different, the moss-covered stones felt alive, and the whole place carried that peaceful Devbhoomi energy that stays with you long after you leave. As a travel lover and content creator, this was one of those rare spots where nature, devotion, and silence all meet beautifully.
If you’re from Dehradun, Mussoorie, or anywhere in Uttarakhand, you already know how powerful these sacred hidden gems can feel. And if you’re planning a trip from Dehradun, Mussoorie, or nearby hill stations, add this to your list — not just for the view, but for the feeling.

Some places don’t just serve food — they serve a feeling. 🌿🏔️
When I reached Hobbit House Eco Village, Maldevta, Dehradun, it honestly felt like stepping into a fairytale hidden inside the mountains. The river flowing near the entrance, the peaceful vibe, the creative architecture, and that fresh Uttarakhand air made the whole place feel unreal.
I went there expecting a beautiful restaurant. I left with a memory.
For me, this was one of those rare spots where the view, the vibe, and the experience all hit at once — perfect for anyone who loves Dehradun travel, mountain cafés, hidden gems, and scenic restaurants. If you’re from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, or just love discovering beautiful places, this one deserves a spot on your list.
