POSTS STORIES REELS

Towards the tail end of my first season on the other side, not to be too reminiscent at the moment but nevertheless having a feeling that I’ve lived 3 years in the space of 9 months.

From starting out at C.F. La Nucia as an analyst in 3a RFEF to coaching the grassroots level in Spain in the U-12 and U-16 category, it was an amazing experience to work alongside some of my mentors and know them personally @bernaballestermarco @angelfdezpf @xavi_mompo @alexvl14 as well as all the people at @ciutatdexativacfb who helped and supported me throughout my time in Valencia

Unfortunately, I faced visa issues and had to fly back home and it broke my heart not to be able to help my kids out for the 2nd part of the season. After staying home for a couple of months, I finally got the opportunity to work with @ishuberk at @realkashmir_fc in probably one of the most unpredictable leagues (I have my own theory why that is the case). We started the season poorly but had decent outings in the last few weeks but not finishing our chances, finally registering our first win yesterday. Hopefully this gives us a much needed boost and we’re able to finish the season strongly.

I’m grateful to be able to amass so many experiences in my first year of coaching and the roller coaster that it is (Need to stress out a little lesser, just spotted a few grey hair the other day)
But we’re just starting out, the best is yet to come by @footywveer

Off the ball movement in the final 3rd

Barcelona under Pep Guardiola’s influence were indomitable and of their USPs was the constant runs in the final third to destabilise the opponent.

Our takeaways:

1. Iniesta’s first run behind Carvalho drags Marcelo and opens up space for Pedro on the wing

2. The timing of Xavi to check into space and Orient himself with his first touch to see the field

3. The Magic
Messi’s run behind Carvalho dragging Pepe -> Iniesta’s run behind Pepe dragging Ramos and finally the pass being played to Villa with 20 yards of space

4. The brilliantly timed run of Pedro behind Marcelo

Not the best of outcomes for the team but the AFC Challenge Cup surely brought us together as a group. Onto the ISL to battle it out to reach this coveted competition again by @footywveer

To new beginnings
We start as an Analyst for FC Goa’s First team 💪 by @footywveer

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Premier League Pick of the Week

Elanga’s opener vs Tottenham

- Newcastle are man-marking & press aggressively which Spurs deal with.
- Defensive Transition: Immediate reaction after the first line is beaten — pressure on the ball + passing lanes closed.
- Secure the Ball: Newcastle regain possession and recycle safely, allowing them to reset.
- Positional Rotations: Lewis Hall inverts from LB, while Dedić pushes high to provide width and an attacking outlet on the Right
- Spot the Opportunity: A miscommunication in Spurs’ press creates the space to switch play.
- Attack the Space: Dedić’s header finds Elanga who is in front of Tonali, turns brilliantly and finishes with a quick snapshot.

Press → Defend the transition → Secure the ball → Rotate → Exploit the mistake.

Premier League - Pick of the week

🇧🇪 De Cuyper’s 2nd goal vs Aston Villa

- Brighton build with a double pivot and high, wide fullbacks.

- Villa press high, but their structure leaves Dunk with time and space to progress the ball (5 v 3)

- Hinshelwood moves into the half-space, attracting Lindelöf and creating space behind.

- Rutter immediately attacks the space off Pau Torres’ shoulder.

- The key detail? De Cuyper’s proactiveness. With the 9 moving away from the box, he accelerates into the space to provide the finishing option.

- Rutter beats Torres and sets him up for his second goal.

Great movement, great recognition, and a brilliant example of players attacking the spaces created by their teammates

🇫🇷 PSG’s press against Aston Villa

Villa build with a double pivot so PSG match them up all over the pitch.
Wingers jump onto the CBs, Akliouche (ST) picks up João Gomes while Vitinha steps onto Kamara.
Zaire-Emery & Neves (CMs) are ready to jump onto the fullbacks, protecting the inside lanes first
Marquinhos (CB) follows Buendia (CAM) between the lines, removing an easy outball.
With numerical equality in the last line, PSG’s defenders need to be proactive & capable in 1v1 situations and have good group dynamics to attack the ball and give covering depth.
As Villa go wide, Neves jumps onto Cash while Zaire-Emery shifts across.
Nuno Mendes stays tight to McGinn, preventing him from turning while support arrives.
Even Akliouche recovers to help maintain the structure.
Eventually, Nunes wins the duel and PSG regain possession.

⚽️ The football season is just around the corner & these I just wanted to share how I planned my gym sessions back when I was competing at the Semi-pro level — and then tweaked it as the season progressed.

OFF-SEASON: More volume → build strength & capacity
PRE-SEASON: Gradually reduce volume → increase intensity/load
IN-SEASON: Maintain strength → enough stimulus without unnecessary fatigue

The goal was never just to lift more. It was about matching the gym work to what was happening on the pitch.

This is a typical Lower Body session which is still saving me. You can equate this to a more Off-season routine (I’m in my 2nd week back to the gym and building volume)

Quad → Hamstrings → Glutes
60-90 sec rest between sets

• Static Lunges — 4 × 12
• Single-Leg RDLs — 4 × 12
• Hip Thrusts — 4 × 12
*2 sec hold at the top*

Superset × 3
2 minute rest between Superset.

• Eccentric Step Downs — 12/side
• Eccentric Leg Curls — 15
• Standing Calf Raises

I also liked finishing with an eccentric quad + hamstring movement paired with calves — getting some quality unilateral and eccentric work in without turning the session into a recovery nightmare.

As the season goes on, the exercises can stay similar, but volume, intensity and recovery become the variables you manipulate.

Train for the season you’re in, not the season you wish you were in. ⚽️💪

P.S. I’m not a S&C coach but having played the sport at a decent level and now coaching, these are the exercises which have worked the best for me. Consult a coach for proper form, technique & programming

⚽️ Whether you’re an analyst, coach or a player, you surely must’ve heard of Veo cameras

For years, GPS vests, manual tagging and hours of desk work have been part of the job. But that is about to change.

Veo is set to unveil its most groundbreaking product yet — one that could eliminate the need for additional hardware while making the analysis process faster, simpler and more efficient.

🚀 The launch show is happening on August 18th.

Sign up through the link in my bio to find out what’s coming.
