Thank you to our incredible clients, we are so honoured to be nominated for best Physiotherapist and best RMT in Kelowna Now’s best of Kelowna. Forest Wellness opened its doors only one year ago, the dream was to share space with other like minded practitioners but still have the freedom to run your own practice on your own terms, and without the high commissions some clinics charge. The dream came true and I’m so grateful for this talented team ❤️❤️ @kte.xplores @yourphysioskylar @robertthephysio @alishah_the_physio @kaylaostafie.rmt and Patrick Dessaulles @bestofkelownanow by @forestwellnesskelowna

People often ask why the name Forest Wellness? And it’s for many reasons, It’s because hiking in the forest brings me joy, it’s what I look forward to during the winter, it’s what I train for, it’s what I rehab injuries for so I can keep going back and exploring new places. It is also is a place where I feel calm and at peace, where I reflect on life away from the chaos of the city, where there’s no wifi. And our goal at Forest Wellness is to help you keep doing the things you love too ❤️ by @forestwellnesskelowna

I requested Dizzee Rascal for the hype and @twpfitness delivered.

I’ll for sure be doing a reel to see progress over the past 10 months but for now, sharing yesterday’s stoke for a new PR!

315# - three plates!!!

I went into yesterday worried I wasn’t going to break 300 and was going to get discouraged. @lorabobora had such a great approach, observing, gauging, asking questions about how things felt and not telling me the weight going on the bar.

Which helped keep that adrenaline harnessed for what comes next and is a big part of why I was able to do this.

The journey to get here hasn’t been easy. I mean I don’t think this milestone is considered “easy” in general.

Every time I deadlift I remember when less than half this weight would leave me in so much pain I couldn’t walk.

I was told I have a “posterior iliac rotation” and given zero hope that it was something I could work on.

That’s changed now.

Clearly.

I use straps as an accessibility aid due to issues in my hands and arms still being investigated.

I have never worn a belt and hate shoes.

I’ll have to change those things eventually to reach some goals. TBD.

Feral gym 🦝

Now for today, rest and physio with Katie at @forestwellnesskelowna to make sure I can keep doing this as long as my body will let me!

And celebrating! Cus dudes every milestone is a step to something freaking amazing!!

Note to self: never forget when the barbell used to feel heavy. by @forestwellnesskelowna

This Sunday, June 22, Skylar Bown, Pelvic Floor Physio, & I are hosting a FREE Workshop on Zoom & it's something I wish I learned when I was pregnant:

All about pushing (for birth) and pooping - properly. 💩

Do you know how common it is to suffer from constipation during pregnancy!?

As many as "39% of women get constipated at some point during pregnancy. Constipation can happen in all three trimesters. Sometimes, you’ll continue to be constipated up to three months after the baby’s born."

So come & learn about pooping properly (and helping out your pelvic floor pre & postpartum) in this weekend's FREE Workshop with Skylar Bown & Hannah Day.

After the workshop, you'll do a 20-minute prenatal yoga class with me & we'll focus on connecting with the pelvic floor & relieving sore hips.

Register via link in @birthprepyoga bio or DM us: PELVIC FLOOR.
