Coaching up my guy @nw.steve with @formula.shooting.team as he heads out for Army Sniper School next week! 💪 We covered fundamentals, DOPE, and positional shooting. The @danielcribbs2 Strong Hands make it super easy to quickly change positions! This is only a drop in the bucket of what he’ll learn, but the guy can definitely shoot!!! Good luck Steve! Do us proud! 🇺🇸💪 by @formula.shooting.team

STAGE 7 DUNDEE USPSA:

I don’t even want to talk about this one. This is the stage where I had to go pout a little after. Mainly because the execution for me was very good up until I binned it on my final shot at the tuxedo. I missed the 2nd, 3rd and 4th shot and ruined what I thought could have been a very competitive run. I didn’t want to burn anymore time trying to hit it and it wouldn’t have made a big difference overall had I hit that paper on the 5th shot. by @formula.shooting.team

STAGE 6 DUNDEE USPSA:

This was a really solid stage for me, I liked my plan, also was given the tip of look where you want to go by a very good competitor in our squad (Serge Davis) which helped end up where I wanted to be at the start. I did have a little hiccup where I didn’t shoot exactly to plan as I wanted to shoot the poppers and tuxedo walking backward to blend to the next position. However with some hindsight and seeing guys who are much better than I shoot it, my “mistake” was actually the correct way to shoot it. by @formula.shooting.team

DUNDEE USPSA STAGE 5:

This was my opening stage of the day, and I really felt like the raw time was good and movement was great. Unfortunately with the adrenaline dump I missed once on the tuxedo in the port, then missed again on the “no shoot” head box, and also my target transition flow was bad because I had changed the plan mid run. The second half was executed as well as I could have hoped. The potential for me is there so that’s good.

Using the @alphacharlieapp and using their stage impact calculator I was able to determine that those 2 misses cost me 6 positions in the overall placement for the match. by @formula.shooting.team

USPSA CLASSIFIER 20-01 CARRY OPTICS A CLASS RUN:
DUNDEE STAGE 4:

I’m happy to come away with an A class level performance from this stage. First one in carry optics, the goal now is to get a 75% or better at the season finale MAJOR match in September. Also how do ya’ll like that counter balance at the end? 🤣 by @formula.shooting.team

STAGE 3 DUNDEE USPSA:

Yeah this one felt good to me, I liked my plan for this one, however the execution again was a little sloppy, shot some targets out of my planned sequence which cost me a little time. But yeah overall not a bad run. by @formula.shooting.team

STAGE 2 DUNDEE USPSA:

Not a bad run on this one, really liked my plan but unfortunately execution was just a little sloppy for how I would have wanted to shoot it. Luckily our squad was a little backed up on this one and I got to see a few people shoot it before me. Can’t take all the credit as @jwhitesazone basically came up with this plan first and I just tried to shoot it like he did. by @formula.shooting.team

STAGE 1 DUNDEE USPSA:

This was my best stage of the day, had a really bad execution the stage prior, and I was able to mentally reset and shoot this with max aggression and but not undisciplined. Really happy with this one, just wish I hit the poppers a little faster. by @formula.shooting.team

DUNDEE USPSA MATCH RESULTS

🏁 31st Overall — 141 Competitors
🏁 16th Carry Optics — 74 Competitors

Yesterday was an interesting one.

I knew when I finished that I had left quite a bit on the table. Two stages in particular were very costly, and cleaning those up probably moves me another 3–4 positions overall.

Stage 7 was the big one. The run was nearly perfect until the very last shot I needed. Missed it, took three makeups, missed all three. At that point the time was disappearing, so I stopped throwing good time after bad and took the penalty.

Basically: binned it on the final corner.

Stage 5 wasn’t much better. Two misses, plus I didn’t execute the stage the way I’d planned. There was probably another second or two sitting there even before accounting for the penalties.

Outside of those two stages, the match was fairly straightforward. A few small execution errors here and there, but nothing that isn’t solved by more training and more reps.

What I’m happiest about isn’t really the placement, though. It’s the mental side.

Earlier in the season, a disaster stage could get into my head and follow me for the rest of the match. That’s starting to change.

I can still be pissed. I can step away and pout for a minute. 😂

But when it’s time to shoot again, it’s back to business. Reset, attack the next stage, and keep pushing without letting the previous result dictate the next one.

That’s progress I’m genuinely happy with.

One more match remains in my 2026 season: Southern Oregon Sectional next month.

Between now and then, plenty of dry fire, plenty of work, and hopefully one last push to finish the season strong.

A Class is close. Time to go get it. 🏁 by @formula.shooting.team

Another Carry Optics B-class run. About 0.4 HF off A-class.

Yeah, it was alright. Looking back at the run, one less makeup shot on steel and turning a Charlie into an Alpha probably gets it there. Nothing major, just a few small execution errors that cost me.

Dundee in two weeks. Just need to clean it up a little bit on the next classifier and I think the A-class run is there.

We keep pushing. #uspsa #formulashootingteam #competitionshooting #pistol #glock by @formula.shooting.team

RESULTS:
22nd / 82 Overall
12th / 47 Division

MATCH RECAP:
Yeah, honestly, it was a pretty normal match. Nothing really special.

I had a few small mistakes here and there that cost some time, but nothing catastrophic. So somehow walking away with my best result ever was actually a bit surprising.

Obviously, it could have been better. I had two Mikes on the two lower hit-factor stages, which cost me a combined 10 match points. I played around with the “What If” calculator on Alpha Charlie afterward, and with the exact same raw times, just without those lost points, I potentially finish 16th overall instead of 22nd.

So yeah… not bad.

I think the pace is there. The execution is getting much more consistent. Now it’s just about cleaning up the small mistakes, finding a bit more speed, and seeing what happens.

We keep pushing.
