I finally got to complete my drawing of @roddyricch (12x15 inches). I had to pause it for some months to focus on school. It took about 3 weeks in total.

"The Great Rescue" is my third painting in the series of "Journey To Self-Discovery."

I understand why some people think this is inspired by Lil Nas X, but the pose—and more importantly, the concept—is completely different. At its core, this painting explores the spiritual reality of drifting away from God. Whether through pain, doubt, distraction, or personal choices. But in his mercy, God extending His hand to rescue, restore, and remind us that His grace reaches even those who feel furthest away.

In this painting, the subject is falling, yet still desperately reaching for the very desires that could lead to his destruction. His outstretched hand extends toward the edge of the canvas, symbolising a longing for what is ultimately harmful. That finger gesture was inspired by Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. But before the fall reaches its unknown destination, God intervenes. He reaches down, rescues the subject, and saves him from the path those desires could have led him down.

The oil painting in 3x4 feet is available for sale. Send me a DM to get started.
