Spring is far more than just a changing of seasons. It’s a rebirth of the spirit. ✨

haven't made a regular post for almost three years. wanted to dedicate it to those ravers you'll most likely find standing in the first row and showing appreciation to the performing artists. capturing their faces, their moves and their emotions just using the available light - that, done right, is what I consider the holy grail of nightlife photography, and after 1.5 decades I still find joy in doing it.

Visited the Dutch seaside on my birthday with one of my best friends, got a bit of sand between the toes, lay down into the sun and later jumped into the salty waves for a couple of minutes. I'm incredibly thankful for being able to travel and staying healthy so far. The best things in life are the most simple ones which we all too often take for granted. 😊

It felt a bit strange to have almost no pictures of myself within my Instagram account. While other users upload nothing but selfies, I prefer to rather show pictures taken BY me, not pictures taken OF me. Well, just to put some variation in my irregular posts, here's a recent portrait of myself which I actually like, for your visual reference who runs this account. 😁

Over one year ago, my NAS stopped working and back then I assumed I had lost my whole photography archive and other important data, adding up to about 19 terabytes. I didn't touch it since then because I didn't want to risk doing anything wrong, recovery was still an option but it should be done properly by the right people.
This is where my friend Kai aka @limednb stepped into the game: During the last seven days he analyzed the eight drives, did some magic and managed to regain access into the file system.

Over a decade of pictures, videos, timelapses and aerial footage are not lost and I will be able to browse through them again hopefully very soon. 😍

Finally visited @officialmaassilo again this weekend for the latest event of @korsakovmusic and spent some minutes exploring the basement (couldn't do that last time). With its old industrial machinery, the dimmed coloured light and all its narrow spaces between the metal structures, the visitors are given a very unique spot where they can not only store their belongings, but as well perfectly sit, rest and talk while hell breaks loose on the dancefloors upstairs.

It's my fourth visit of the famous #LetItRoll open air festival, over the years I always took insane amounts of pictures - and I never went anywhere without my camera equipment. Today was a first-time exception, by purpose I left my gear in the car to attend the set of @etherwooduk - hosted by @favamc - I wanted to experience this exact set from start to finish without looking through a viewfinder. First row, middle spot, cold drink, a beautiful sunset, chilled crowd, phenomenal vibes - and the two musicians delivered one of the best sets I ever witnessed. It was pure bliss, I could not have asked for more.

Island of Madeira, July 2015: I spent a night outside on a mountain, capturing some astro timelapses. Upon sunrise, I wanted to collect all of my gear which I had spread everywhere around me, and due to being insanely tired, I forgot that one of my cameras was still rolling. For the first time ever I ruined my own timelapse by running through the frame. In the end, I started a new sunrise timelapse which turned out better than I could have ever imagined. 😁

Over the years I have been asked countless times to take some dedicated 'artist pictures' or 'press shots' outside of clubs, without any turntables nearby. In most cases, those shootings turned out to be utterly ridiculous and very worthwhile.

Shot on 21.05.2018 in Cologne, starring Phenikz & Dopamin. No bridges were harmed while taking this picture. 😋
