Hey friends - I often end captions with LOVE YOU MEAN IT GLAD YOU’RE HERE. Over the past few years, I’ve noticed more and more DMs coming in that get the “LOVE YOU MEAN IT GLAD YOU’RE HERE” sign-off. More and more comments from people who say the same. I sometimes forget that people read the random stuff I write online, but these little reminders that this actually means something to someone, that people are able to pick up on the fact that when I write this, I actually mean it... just gotta say, you all are pretty special. I get that the internet can be a dark place. I know social media has a lot of darkness, and sometimes it pops up here too, but truly, you all are a big bright spot in my day every single day and I just want you to know, from the bottom of my heart... I… enthusiastically showed up at 6:30 every day to record the morning announcements. The biggest scandal to ever happen at our school was when some kid blew up the spirit rock. Oh don’t mind me and my MAPFA* Hat 💅*Make Annual Physicals Fun Again I want to talk physicals and I have some thoughts... if you read this entire thing please know you’ll earn one stamp towards getting a free personal pan pizza (for legal purposes I need to disclose that this is not true) My understanding of annual physicals growing up was that this appointment was a THING. I remember stories from my parents about their physicals where they ran on treadmills to measure heart-rates and had every nook and cranny checked, an unpleasant experience to say the least... but a thorough one. My experience in the doctor’s office as a grownup couldn’t be more opposite. You get your lab-work done a week beforehand and then have to still go in for an actual appointment even if everything is fine, and you’d be okay with this if anything actually happened at the appointment, but nothing ever does. You dutifully show up 15 minutes early to your appointment and sit in the lobby for an hour before being called into the freezing cold exam room where you wait for another hour only for your primary care doc to fly in & spend approximately 2 minutes with you, and then leave. During this time you’re quickly reminded that this doctor has zero recollection of having ever met you before despite having been your doctor for 5+ years, and has not reviewed your chart until that very moment. No treadmill, no little bouncy knee hammer, and while you’re thrilled to have been able to keep your clothes on (especially considering the room you’re in is somehow the coldest room you’ve ever been in ever), the nooks and crannies remain unchecked. And like, this is fine, I’m relatively healthy but why are we doing this? What even is the point of having a primary care doctor if this is how it works? If I could get the same level of care from an online doctor instead of spending 3+ hours in an office for a 30 second appointment I had to schedule 7 months in advance because everything is constantly overbooked... why are we even doing this? Why does NOTHING work anymore? AND WHERE TF are the bouncy leg hammers?????? by @iamthirtyaf

“How did we write essays without AI?? Oh, oh sweetie.
