If you told 16 year old me who was contemplating on taking the risk starting a non-profit would end up on ABC News from winning an award from Sports Icon Billie Jean King & ESPN she would be in denial.

This award means so much more and it inspires me to propel my passion for championing change through sports. I am extremely blessed and grateful for the unwavering support who makes the journey rewarding.💙💫

Thank you Billie for empowering the youth and using sports as a vehicle for lasting change. by @franceskacolocado

What if we told you that sometimes the only thing standing between an athlete and the sport they love… was the cost? 💰

Well, that’s where we come in! Every season, there are talented athletes that are forced to step away from the game because of things like equipment costs, registration fees, travel expenses… the list goes on.

Our mission is to change that. 💫

At Gear for Greatness, we raise money for individuals and teams to cover these costs— from a pair of new basketball shoes to big tournament travel AND we even offer up educational tools for our high school athletes. These small things can quite literally change everything for an athlete.

If you also believe that everyone deserves the chance to play, we hope you’ll consider making a small donation today.

Your support helps keep the next generation of athletes moving forward.

Check out our website to learn more about donation and volunteer opportunities or see our current programs: https://gearforgreatness.org/

from the court to the conference room 🥹♥️

yesterday through @gearforgreatness i hosted a mental health workshop on eating disorders but for this to happen there is quite a long story here.

@daniela.laing and i met back in 2023 through club volleyball. we both played on the same team @avatexasvball. we immediately click since we were the youngest on the team — we were pulled up to play a year above, and also realized we share filipino roots. however it extended beyond that. we shared a passion for advocacy and using our voices to make the difference we wanted to see in our communities.

me and dani then went our separate ways for college. she continued her volleyball career now at NYU, and i left for UT austin as a student; but both of our passions never left. during the times we could catch up we decided to action upon our passions and create more change. dani went to create @face.nyu and @gearforgreatness was expanding our education program.

so we started ideating, planning, and seeing what we could do. then we set a date, secured sponsors, and booked my flight — it got real!

on tuesday we successfully completed the workshop impacting women athletes across nyu athletic programs. a moment i think we both will never forget.

we then celebrated with gelato and reflected on our journey and couldn’t be more glad for the game of volleyball. ♥️

so athletes, cherish your teammates and the relationships you build! you never know where it will take you ✨
