POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

CURATOR: DR. ADAM (@freaslife)
TWELVE WAX / PROFESSOR / EMCEE
PLAYLIST: RELÄX YŪR MIN̈D

MANY, MANY YEARS AGO… ME AND FREAS WERE IN A MUSIC CLASS TOGETHER.

AND AT THE TIME, I THOUGHT THAT WAS THE ILLEST THING EVER. AND STILL DO.

FREAS WAS THE HEAD EMCEE OF ADDICT MERCHANTS… AND TO THIS DAY, MATTER OF FACT IS STILL ONE OF MY FAVORITE HIP HOP ALBUMS. CRAZY TO THINK ALMOST 20+ YEARS LATER WE’D LINK BACK UP FOR A SOUNDCHECK.

FULL CIRCLE.

DR. FREAS IS STILL DOING DOPE THINGS.

AND WHAT’S THE SAYING?

PEOPLE WHO KNOW DOPE STUFF… TEACH.

THANK YOU, ADAM, FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE SAC HIP HOP SCENE. THEN AND NOW.

NOMINEE: @theabs1er AND @roymachado_allcity

I FEEL REALLY BLESSED FOR THESE NOMINATIONS.

NINO AND AB 1… Y’ALL ARE DOPE. I’LL BE BACK IN SAC IN OCTOBER FOR THE NEXT ROUND OF SOUNDCHECK.

CAN’T WAIT TO LINK UP AGAIN.

EVERY STEP TELLS A STORY.

🚨 BIG NEWS FROM TWELVES WAX 🚨

We’re proud to finally announce that Twelves Wax is officially stepping into vinyl production. 🎶

That means we’ll be pressing records, partnering on releases, and helping bring music from Sacramento artists to wax. Our city has a deep and rich music history, and we believe those stories deserve to be heard, preserved, and shared far beyond city limits.

This is about celebrating Sacramento culture, honoring the artists who built the sound, and creating something timeless for collectors and music lovers alike.

Our very first release is with the incredible jazz trio Original Heads — featuring Willie Prince, Rod Morgan (Bapnotes) @bapnotesmusic and Harley White @harleywhitejr

We’re bringing back selections from their early 2000s classic Head Nod EP as a special series of 7” vinyl releases.

🎷 FIRST DROP:
“Marvin” / “Motivation”

🔥 Limited copies only
📍 Available this Saturday, April 18th
🎉 RECORD STORE DAY at Twelves Wax

This is just the beginning.

The No Kings Rally wasn’t just a protest—it was a powerful call to action from people demanding transparency, accountability, and dignity in the systems that shape their futures.

Being there reminded me why we do this work. It’s not about titles or power—it’s about showing up for those who often go unheard it’s about speaking with the people not speaking at them .
We showed what it looks like when the people claim their power. No kings—just community. 📸 @freshdidit taken in Sacramento, California by @frontstepsisthefuture
