Workflow is everything for me. Life is busy, and when I finally get some time in the “studio”, I need things to flow. Fast. That’s how I get the best out of my creative time. So my process usually looks something like this: 01. Jamming & patterns It all starts with a box. Usually the Digitakt II or Digitone II (the Digitone II for this track). This often happens on the couch, around the house, or wherever I find a little time. I usually make 3–5 patterns in one sitting, moving fast and following whatever feels good. 02. Recording & tweaking Later, when I’m actually at my setup, I record everything into @ableton using Overbridge (thanks @weareelektron ❤️). I often record the main parts, like chords and pads, in long, ambient-like sessions while tweaking filters, envelopes, and effects. It’s honestly so calming and fun. Probably my favourite part of the whole process! After that, I record the drum parts as individual clips. 03. Arrangement Quick arrangement! I try to move fast here and NOT overthink things. 04. Mixing & demo mastering A quick mix and demo master. Nothing too fancy. 05. Let it marinate Upload to SoundCloud and listen over the next few days. Make a few adjustments if needed. And that’s pretty much it! From a pattern on a box to a finished track in just a couple of hours. I absolutely love working this way. Now the track gets to marinate and wait for its time to shine. If it eventually finds its way onto a release, I’ll probably revisit the mix. But for now? More tracks! Wishing everybody a happy midweek! ☀️ PS. Releases are coming. Super excited about what’s ahead. Stay tuned! ❤️ #abletonlive #electron #musicproducers by @fredsoncph
Monthly status time! ✨ It’s been an intense month, both in life and music. The studio is still packed up during renovations, so it’s been kitchen tables and laptops for a while. I miss the setup a bit, but it’s also refreshing to make music in new ways. So many new projects in the making: 1. A vinyl-only release on @supervisionrecords_de. So excited for this one! 💿 2. A track and remix coming with @jiggy_astronaut. 3. Ep on another Label ( TBA ) So grateful for all the people reaching out, the collaborations and people buying the music. Hopefully, there’s a lot more to come! And almost 2,000 people are following this page now. So nice to connect with you all and have you along for the ride 🙏 Have a great Monday, and see you out there! ♾️ by @fredsoncph
Time to look back and look ahead 👁️‍🗨️ I’ve really been enjoying playing, recording, sharing, and connecting with all of you lately. Over the past six months I’ve recorded a lot of jams, listened to a ridiculous amount of dub techno, and released music. People have listened, commented, connected, and bought my music. That honestly means more than I can put into words. Thank you. Putting your work out there is never easy. It can make you feel vulnerable, a little silly, and sometimes even naive. But it’s also incredibly rewarding. I’m having a lot of fun creating, learning, and just going with the flow I have a lot of ideas and dreams that still needs work and maybe if i say them out loud they will manifest in some way! 1. Play a semi-improvised dub techno live set at an open-air festival. 2. Release a record on vinyl. 3. Share my music through a DJ set. Thanks again for following along and don’t hesitate to reach out. See you out there 💫 by @fredsoncph
