🇨🇦🔥 THE FLAME GOES OUT. THE MEMORIES STAY. Calgary ’88 — a closing-night keepsake. ❄️ This ticket is from the Closing Ceremonies of the XV Olympic Winter Games, dated February 28 at McMahon Stadium. Printed admission price? Just $20. The colours, bilingual lettering and Calgary ’88 emblem capture an era when your ticket became something you tucked away and kept for decades. Imagine the stories behind this seat — the cheers, the flags, and the farewell to an Olympic Games on Canadian soil. That’s what we love at Fresh Slabs: finding pieces that bring those memories back. 🍁 Did you watch Calgary ’88? 🏒 THE GREAT ONE. THE DYNASTY. THE CHASE FOR ANOTHER CUP. A 1987 Edmonton Oilers playoff ticket stub from the heart of hockey’s golden era. That Stanley Cup artwork and classic Oilers logo say it all. 🔥 “Home Game 9” lines up with Edmonton’s ninth home game of that postseason — the Stanley Cup Final opener against Philadelphia on May 17, 1987. The Oilers won 4–2, beginning a seven-game battle that ended with Edmonton lifting its third Stanley Cup. Gretzky. Messier. Kurri. Coffey. Fuhr. A team stacked with names that became hockey history. Once, this was someone’s way into Northlands Coliseum. Today, it’s a connection to a championship run worth remembering. Fresh Slabs — every ticket has a story. 🏆 Is the ’80s Oilers dynasty the greatest in hockey history? 👇 #FreshSlabs #EdmontonOilers #WayneGretzky #StanleyCup #Hockeytickets by @fresh.slabs
🏈 BEFORE THE RINGS. BEFORE THE DYNASTY. BRADY AT THE BIG HOUSE. November 7, 1998 — Michigan shut out Penn State 27–0, with Tom Brady throwing for 224 yards and two touchdowns and earning ABC Player of the Game honours. Michigan’s defense handed the Nittany Lions their first shutout in 130 games. 🔥 This ticket stub connects directly to that afternoon in Ann Arbor — an early chapter in Brady’s football story, before anyone knew what his NFL career would become. And look closely: the player pictured is Brian Griese, celebrated on the ticket as Rose Bowl MVP. One piece of Michigan history on the front, another in the game it represents.〽️ That’s why we love collecting tickets. The date tells a story the picture alone can’t. Fresh Slabs — preserving pieces of the game. Would you add college-era Brady tickets to your collection? 👇 #FreshSlabs #TomBrady #MichiganFootball #GoBlue #TicketStubs FootballMemorabilia SportsHistory BrianGriese by @fresh.slabs
⚾🍁 BEFORE THE BAT FLIP. BEFORE THE WORLD SERIES. THE EARLY DAYS. A 1978 Toronto Blue Jays spring-training media pass from Grant Field in Dunedin, Florida — back when Toronto’s MLB story was just getting started. Issued to Lou Cauz of Controlled Media Corp., credential No. 31 features that classic original Blue Jays logo and the unmistakable typewritten details. Cauz also authored the 1977 book Baseball’s Back in Town, adding another connection to Toronto’s baseball roots. These are the pieces we love at Fresh Slabs. Beyond the cards and box scores, media passes tell the stories of the people who helped document the game. 📸📝 A little Florida sunshine. A lot of Blue Jays history. #FreshSlabs #TorontoBlueJays #BlueJays #SpringTraining #Dunedin BaseballHistory by @fresh.slabs
🇨🇦🏒 THE NIGHT OF THE GOLDEN GOAL. 🥇 February 28, 2010. Vancouver. A date Canadian hockey fans will never forget. This Molson Canadian Hockey House IIHF VIP pass was issued for the evening of the very day Sidney Crosby scored the “Golden Goal,” giving Canada a 3–2 overtime victory over the USA. A night made for celebrating. 🍁 Dated February 28, with access listed from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., this piece captures the atmosphere surrounding one of Canada’s greatest hockey moments. A Hockey House pass with an incredible date attached to it. 👀 Fresh Slabs — preserving the memories beyond the cards. Where were YOU when Crosby scored? 👇 #FreshSlabs #Vancouver2010 #GoldenGoal #SidneyCrosby #TeamCanada by @fresh.slabs
📸 ORIGINAL PHOTOS. REAL MOMENTS. SERIOUS COLLECTIBLES. Before everything lived on a phone, history was captured on film—and some of those original photographs are now prized pieces of memorabilia. 🏒 Sports legends. 🎸 Concerts and backstage moments. 🎬 Movie stars and pop-culture history. How serious can the market get? ⚾ A 1920 Babe Ruth Type I photograph sold for US$153,389 at SCP Auctions in 2023. 🏀 A 1984 Michael Jordan “Bulls Sign Jordan” photograph brought US$18,368 at SCP in 2021. 🎶 An original circa 1964 Beatles concert photograph by Dezo Hoffman sold for US$334 at RR Auction in 2022. The appeal? A physical connection to the moment. The photographer, print date, rarity, condition and history behind the image all help tell its story. Some surviving prints may be unique. Others exist in small numbers. “Original” doesn’t automatically mean “one of one”—but a scarce photograph can offer something special for a collection. At Fresh Slabs, we love collectibles with a story. Original photography deserves a closer look. 🔍 What would you collect—sports, music or movies? 👇 @fresh.slabs P.S This is an original photo of Jackie Robinson’s childhood home he lived at in Pasadena California #FreshSlabs #OriginalPhotography #VintagePhotos #SportsMemorabilia #MusicMemorabilia by @fresh.slabs

November 21, 1998 🏈 Michigan vs. Ohio State — Ohio Stadium Tom Brady threw for 375 yards, completing 31 of 56 passes—setting Michigan single-game records in all three categories at the time. This is one of my favourite ticket stubs… the year of the Rat. Scott Mellanby killed a rat with his stick and scored the winner - I think that’s how the story went. #flapanthers #nhltickets #freshslabs #scottmellanby by @fresh.slabs
