When I moved from Sweden, my intention was to find a new home. And I did, inside myself. I’ve focused on creating a life that works for me, not what other people do. I believed in myself even though I didn’t have a plan, and created my own map with simple things that make me happy every day. Life doesn’t have to be more complicated than this..

⏰ Waking up with my body’s rhythm and not an alarm each morning
🏄🏼‍♀️ Surfing every day
👣 Walking barefoot
💄 Not wearing make up for 1+ year
🎬 Writing
🌊 Working with water and my purpose
🍸 No alcohol for 2 years
🚙 Driving my vintage car from 1987
🏝️ Living in a small town and bumping into friends everywhere
🎨 Doing creative projects with friends and supporting each other
🦋 Speaking English every day
🦥 Wild animals
🥳 Singing and dancing
⛲️ Drinking Kangen water Ping @_kay_leidoscope
🏠 Knowing people’s houses, cars, bikes, kids and dogs in the town I live in
🌅 Ending each day with sunset on the beach
❤️ Co-creating my life with the universe and knowing that everything I need is right here in my heart, or in front of my eyes. by @freyasommardotter

Finding safety within no matter what life gives you🩵🧜🏼‍♀️🌊 by @freyasommardotter

A mix of both film and digital from this set with @frejasommardotter on a secluded beach of Costa Rica.

Can you tell which one is film VS digital?

P.S. The last one should be easy 🔥🎞️ by @freyasommardotter

Free to be — for those who know how to value and embody it — is perhaps the most beautiful state. Free from people who don’t nourish you, from a job that consumes too much of your time, free from the weight of what others might think — and still open enough to love deeply within that freedom.

This series captures Freja in a raw, intimate moment on a secluded beach, where softness meets strength. “Shot in natural light, we leaned into the rhythm of the ocean, letting movement, wind, and texture guide the flow rather than directing it too tightly. The intention was to keep everything simple and honest, allowing her presence to carry the story,” tells us photographer Charles Blouin about this beautiful series, shot on both 35mm film and digital.

There is something effortless in the way Freja exists in this space — both grounded and free. The private beach setting creates a feeling of isolation and calm, where nothing feels performative. Just her and the elements.

“The film brings a nostalgic, tactile quality, while the digital frames add precision and contrast. Together, they reflect a balance between spontaneity and intention. As an outdoor lifestyle photographer, I’m drawn to moments that feel real and unforced, with an analog sensibility even when working digitally.”
