One day you’re dreaming about a family together, and then you’re sitting on a restaurant patio watching him hold your baby while you decide what to order. 🥹 #momssupportingmoms #relatable #familylife #parenthood #filipino by @froilinhammersla

$Episode 2 of Almost Home 🏠 — every finish we picked. We chose every single finish in our new build. We went back and forth, tried to stick to a budget, and then the design center gave us a fast reality check 😅 So we made rules before we picked anything: does it survive a toddler? Will we still love it in 10 years? Will it cost more to do down the road? If it failed one, it was out. The splurges: the super shower, cornerless doors, gourmet kitchen, and electrical upgrades — because you can never have too many outlets. Our parents said that was too much and we should save. We said it’s worth upgrading now than later. The saves: standard baseboards, standard lights everywhere except the master bedroom, and no builder blinds — we’ll get those somewhere else for a fraction of the cost. Nobody has ever walked into a house and said “wow, those baseboards” 😂 And the one everyone has opinions about: the cornerless doors. Yes — these are the car-priced ones. Tell me in the comments — do you think it was worth the upgrade?? 👇 Plus two decisions chosen entirely by a baby who can’t talk yet: which room will be his, and where his playroom goes. Next week: the boring stuff. Home sweet, almost, home 🤍 #homeowner #newbuild #homedesign #phoenix #dreamhomes by @froilinhammersla$

This was so good that John requested for me to make it again.

Passing along the recipe so you can tell me if it’s that good too.

Ingredients
* 3–4 lbs beef chuck roast (cut into large chunks or left whole)
* 1 tbsp avocado oil or sesame oil
* 1 sweet onion (thinly sliced)
* 4–6 cloves garlic (minced)
* 1 tbsp fresh ginger (grated)
* 1 cup soy sauce
* ¼ cup brown sugar
* 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
* 2 cups beef broth
* Carrots and potatoes

Instructions
1. Sear the Beef: Pat the chuck roast dry and season with salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear the beef on all sides for about 4–5 minutes per side depending on your stove. Afterwards remove and set aside on a plate.
2. Next, lower the heat to medium. Add the sliced onions cook for 5 minutes until soften then add the garlic and ginger to the same pot. Cook for 2–3 minutes
3. Make the Sauce: Mix together the gochujang, brown sugar, soy sauce, water and beef stock. Bring the liquid to a boil.
4. Stovetop Braise: Return the chuck roast (and any resting juices) to the pot. Add the carrots and potatoes around the beef. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid, reduce the heat to low, and let it simmer for 3 to 5 hours, turning the meat from time to time, until it easily shreds with a fork.
5. Serve: Shred the beef directly in the pot to coat it in the braising liquid. Serve warm over steamed white rice and kimchi.
Enjoy and happy cooking!

Xx

Episode 1 of Almost Home 🏠
Everyone builds a house for a reason. Ours is him.
We moved to Arizona to give Solomon a better life, and this house is us putting down roots. Right now it’s sawdust, bare cabinets, and a whole lot of dust — but I don’t see any of that. I see birthday cakes on that island. I see a backyard full of noise. I see the backdrop of his childhood.
We’re not building a showroom. We’re building a home. 🤍 by @froilinhammersla

I can’t believe I now have an 11 month old. Like how are you about to be 1 years old next month?!
