👏This is what the people want!!👏

Had the privilege this evening to check out Greenville/Greer’s newest bookshop @thebookmarkgreer and let me tell you it does NOT disappoint!

From an amazing selection of books and bookish items to cozy seating and an adorable kids corner, this little store has it all! It is the local bookstore I have been searching for.

Their official opening is tomorrow (check the flyer on the last slide), and next weekend (Saturday 10/17) they will be hosting a small vendor market to celebrate.🎉

See something you like? Let’s be friends! by @fromthelibraryof.meg

This was my first M.A.Frick book I’ve read and now all I want to do is read more from her. This standalone romantasy captivated me from the start and left me just wanting more.
Isle of dragon Bones is a forced-proximity (the DEFINITION of forced-proximity might I add) age-gap romance that was full of tension, yearning, and learning.
One of my favorite things about this read was that Kelpie (our FMC) was left with amnesia and we got to see her piece back her world and life in real time. Her struggle with learning the events of the past and trying to navigate what the present and future holds all while trying to figure out the mystery of Ardenn, the MMC, led to such amazing character development I couldn’t get enough.
I also really enjoyed how about halfway through we learn some vital information causing a major shift the story that just added to the depth and intrigue.

Favorite quotes:
”I dragged a palm down my face. I had to be careful, and it was far too early. My skull ached, and I hadn’t been given tea. This conversation needed all three of my wits, and at best, I possessed half of one.”

“Her lips brushed my beard in a chaste kiss. Fragile. Pure. Everything my thoughts were not” by @fromthelibraryof.meg

No shame. by @fromthelibraryof.meg

Jumping on this trend since October is coming to a close next week. Here are my ten hopefuls for the end of the year!

Do you think I can do it? Will I need to find more? Will I scrap most of these and read something completely different?
Stay tuned!

What is your most anticipated read for the end of the year? by @fromthelibraryof.meg

Releases 11/3 but get your preorders now because you don’t want to miss out!

I am so lucky to receive this as an ARC by Christine because I am in love. I am a sucker for Christmas rom-coms to begin with, but when I saw that Christine was publishing one after her debut romantasy I couldn’t apply faster.
It’s a fun, cute read that gives all the hallmark vibes without the cringe. It has really set the mood for the holiday season for me and is everything I want in a read like this.
I connect so well with Christine’s writing. It’s descriptive without it telling, and each character plays an important role. No one feels forced and everything just flows so well.
While the FMC Charlie has her flaws I also felt so empowered by her as a strong independent woman. Seeing her grow further just made me lover her even more. And the MMC Hunter? Let’s just say I can dig the slutty little glasses vibe. Their chemistry is just fire!
Favorite quotes:
“Don’t sit on information that big forever, Hunter. Don’t let waiting for the perfect moment be the enemy of plain good enough. You might regret it.”

There’s a feeling you wake up with after it’s snowed. A knowledge, before you even open your eyes. The unfamiliar hush, the subtle difference in the world’s energy. It’s straight-up magic. by @fromthelibraryof.meg

Its release day for this absolute stunner! If you haven’t already add this to your TBR right now 🔥🥵 by @fromthelibraryof.meg

We are SO close! In just one month does this beauty get released. I am so glad I was given the opportunity to read this novel as an ARC by Megan because this immediately jumped to one of the top books I’ve read this year.
If you love good fast-paced plot with lots of witty banter then this is for you because *chefs kiss*. The slow burn and chemistry between the FMC and the MMC was enough to drive the story alone, but Megan didn’t hold back and wrote a story that was action packed, full of fun side characters, and simply a world I can’t get enough of. I also really appreciated (more for my own personal benefit) that this book didn’t leave off with a major cliffhanger. Don’t get me wrong the last 10% of the book left me with PLENTY of questions and yearning but I also felt like it was a fun way to wrap up the first book.
Again, with the amount of banter and chemistry there’s no surprise that this is a super quotable book but here are my top two.

“He was beyond thankful that, even when he became a ghost of memories past, at least the water would remember this.”

“I looked at the bouquets, and I could picture all the fields and gardens where they were grown. Tended to daily to ensure they would grow beautiful, just to be sold in a market someday. Then I saw the wildflowers, and their beauty felt more genuine. Flowers that grew naturally in circumstances beyond their control, and yet they still became strong and beautiful on their own.”

Grantor of Beginnings is the first in a series of a planned 6 and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next one.

May not have been able to get as much reading done this week as I had originally hoped, but getting to spend so much time and slow mornings with my girl makes everything worth it.

Also, shout out to my hammock for being my favorite reading spot now that the weather is starting to cool off. by @fromthelibraryof.meg

I’ve been wanting to make a post like this for a while, but keep forgetting 😬, but here is what I’m currently reading!

E-Reader: 🎄You Feel like Christmas by Christine Drummond 🎄After reading Kingdom of the Owl by her, Christine became an instant must read for me. So, when I heard she was publishing a holiday rom-com I was kicking my feet sqealing! Currently reading YFLC as an ARC but it is available for preorder now and will be released on 11/3. I am about 25% through as of right now, and so far it is EVERYTHING I want in a holiday romance read.

📖Hard Copy📖: Lucretia’s Curse by Olivia Noelle This is a debut novel by Olivia about a woman from Ancient Rome searching for a cure and an archaeologist from the future with a curse. Premise is right up my alley that I had this pre-ordered before its release date back in September. Her writing is so descriptive in every good way possible and even only about 20% of the way in I feel so connected and invested in the characters.

🎧Audiobook🎧: Spark of the Everflame by Penn Cole Yes, Bookstagram made me do it, but I have zero regrets. At 75% of the way through this one, and I can assure you as soon as I am done I will be jumping right in to Glow of the Everflame. The audiobook is narrated by Amanda Dolan who is doing a FANTASTIC job in my opinion.

🎧Also on Audiobook🎧: Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V. E. Schwab Have this also on my current shelf for a bookclub I am in. Julia Whelan is doing the narration for this andI love her ability to take on the voices of different characters. Only about 16% of the way through, so I will be honest still trying to find my groove with the story. I will day though so far it’s been everything I would expect from a Schwab book.
