It’s spring! Here is a sad poem by Annie MG Schmidt that inspired me to make this illustration.

Zonder jou

De wereld is wonderlijk leeg zonder jou.
Er staat maar zo weinig meer in.
De hemel is aldoor zo hinderlijk blauw.
Waarom?

nutteloos, zinneloos.

De wereld is wonderlijk leeg zonder jou.
Er staat maar zo weinig meer in.
De hemel is aldoor zo hinderlijk blauw.
Waarom?
leeg, zonder jou.

A few years ago I was asked to design the book cover for a PhD thesis. It’s really fun when doing something for the first time turns into more commissions in that same area, which is what happened!

FOUR | For @hannaburkhardt and her family I’ve made something very special through the years: four birth celebration cards for four children. It’s has been so much fun adding a cute new family member to each card. I wish the six of you all the love in the world!
