this was my first full year having my small business! here are some of my favorite products i created this year and some of my best selling! (there isn’t 2023 one bc i was 2 months postpartum and extremely sleep deprived) I started drawing again for fun a few years ago, sporadically posting when I had time. some of you have been around since those days and i’m so grateful you’re still here! I had just finished my master’s and I loved my job and my career was going well, but there was a part of me that wondered - what if I had the time or opportunity to start the little stationery business I’d ALWAYS wanted when I was a kid? i quit my job 2 years ago after having my kid. i would have had to return to work when he was 3 months and kid would go to daycare, along with 1/2 my paycheck. thankfully my SO and I are in a position where I could take a career hiatus. it was honestly one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever made. I always imagined myself having a career even if I did have kids (& I spent most of my life not wanting kids). I worked as a consultant for about half a year postpartum and when their fiscal year ended, they couldn’t renew my contract. it took me 2 months after that to muster up the courage to open my shop and I finally did it at the end of Aug 2024! you can see some of the designs i created years ago finally turning into products this year 🥹 this has been the hardest I’ve worked in my entire life and it’s honestly the most rewarding experience, to be able to reparent myself so i can be the best parent to my kid and to build a small business that is completely mine. this year has been full of growth, lots of stepping out of my comfort zone, and learning the logistics of a small business! thank you all for following along my small business journey and loving my art and products! can’t wait to see what 2026 brings 🤍 . . . #artvsartist #artvsartist2025 #smallbusiness #aapiartist #asianart by @fruitcatsstudio

postcard from my corner of the world 🌵🏜️ this is my spin on a classic AZ postcard. i’ve wanted to make Arizona art for a while and this was the perfect chance to try it out! a lot of people think AZ is just desert but it has a lot of biodiversity and the prettiest sunsets! it’s also huge and you’ll see lush forests, snow, desert, suburbs depending on where you are in the state. i’m hoping to make more AZ art in the future! last prompt for #mylittlemailclub26 ! @bowendraws, @lilyandstarsstudio, @bowenstudio_, @invertouch_art, @wildart_meadow, @chulip_art, @la_vie.studios.co @fruitcatsstudio . if you’re new here: hi! it's international cat day! here are some items inspired by my 3 cats 🥰 I started drawing again after I adopting my cats because they're basically cartoon characters. I created this small stationery business with my cats as the main characters! everything is available in my shop! fruitcatsstudio.etsy.com . . . #catartist #catsofinstgram #stickershop #stationeryshop #cat papaya pushing a dim sum cart 😆 I love her little expression fruitcatsstudio.etsy.com ice cream cats washi tape! fruitcatsstudio.etsy.com cat paws washi tape fruitcatsstudio.etsy.com cozy coffee cat sticker! all the stickers in my shop are weatherproof, tear-proof, and dishwasher safe! I'm very particular about the quality and durability of my stickers. it took a bit of trial and error to find the right manufacturers with the quality I like! fruitcatsstudio.etsy.com "stay home cozy club" sticker! I think this showcases their purrsonalities really well 😆 fruitcatsstudio.etsy.com I created this magnet for my washer and dryer. we've been counting our cats since we adopted them to make sure none of them get stuck in the machines. I'm always paranoid that something will happen to them so we do a headcount right before we leave and every time we come home as well! anyone else? fruitcatsstudio.etsy.com honestly how I feel Papaya is most of the time - having an existential crisis. these sticky notes are one of my best sellers! fruitcatsstudio.etsy.com papaya does her best and her best is enough fruitcatsstudio.etsy.com guava and her emotional support boba is all of us (it's a sticker! weatherproof, UV resistant, and dishwasher safe) fruitcatsstudio.etsy.com these next two stickers are papaya's 2 default states 😆 fruitcatsstudio.etsy.com fruitcatsstudio.etsy.com Kiwi is sassy and has many many thoughts and opinions and will gladly talk to you about them! this sticker is a glimpse into her personality! fruitcatsstudio.etsy.com Kiwi is also the sweetest, most affectionate cat ever and she's my great friend and emotional support cat 🥰 fruitcatsstudio.etsy.com I like to think Guava is a scholar and would bury her head in books for hours if she knew how to read 😅 fru by @fruitcatsstudio
cute little bunny is ready for school! i’ve wanted to create a character for brudder and i think this little bunny is going to be it. he was born in the year of the rabbit so I think this guy is fitting! he started "school" a few weeks ago and he's so freaking cute with his giant backpack 🎒 . it’s probably no surprise that i loved stationery and school supplies as a kid. i’m so happy that i’m able to create cute stationery with my art now and hopefully spread some joy and whimsy to people’s everyday 🥰 did you love shopping for school supplies too? this little guy is going to be a sticker, dropping next week. follow along for product drop updates and cute art! . if you’re new here: hi!
