POSTS STORIES REELS

🌕 Last night I had the pleasure of guiding a full moon ritual in community @yogaoasistucson . We began with the moonrise during that liminal time in the day, where the Tucson mountains are painted in hues of soft pink and purple.

Together we reflected on what has transpired in the past 6 months, from the new moon in this same sign.

It was a full house for the practice, which tells me a few things… We know, whether consious or unconscious, that belonging and being (as opposed to separateness and doing) can offer powerful remedies for the world we live in.

Rarely in our fast moving existence do we take time for a collective pause, to drop into quiet company and trace the path that brought us to this moment, to honor all that has come and gone and left our whole beings transformed in the wake of change.

To take a bow of gratitude towards the thresholds we move through… a sure way to sweeten a human life.

In many ways I’m different and yet in other ways the same as I was 6 months ago. On the new moon, I left Tucson for awhile and followed the current of water, filming the documentary @beneaththesurfacehotsprings . I had conversations with people, with the land, with the water that seemed to make all the sense, integrating parts of my own past. I relearned how to ride creative pulses, and step away from things that don’t feel aligned, despite all the persuasions and rationalizing of my logical brain. I discovered that there are old protection mechanisms that have softened grip and others that are blessing me with the opportunity to release my resistance and rejection… and learn to love them.

Big thank you to all who shared company with me.

Just a few reflections from my end. I invite you to of the same and share what has shifted if you feel called to ✨🙏🏽 by @gabycolletta

Do you take time to step away from the stimulation of the world?

There are many ways to create a personal retreat.✨

…a short meditation
…a morning yoga practice
…a quiet moment in warm water
…connecting with the elements of Nature.

Thank you @arroyopinioninsedona for providing a little sanctuary of calm during my visit to town last weekend!

Here’s to having all of the above, yes even yoga classes and sound baths in salt rooms! 🙌🏽

🎥 Sneak peek of the footage in the making of @beneaththesurfacehotsprings documentary.

Welcome to Vulcano, named after Vulcan, God of Fire.

On a rugged and wild island tucked away in the Tyrollean Sea, off the coast of Sicily you’ll find geothermal waters, like no other.

Here, fumaroles bubble through the seabed warming the water. Sulfur and sodium mud pools, a scent not for faint of heart, that draws medicinal soakers back season after season.

You can watch this video on YouTube, along with more snapshots of footage captured to tell the story of the geothermal waters.

Join me for a workshop exploring Puruṣārthas: Pathways to Human Fulfillment

So much of my own journey is learning how to walk a path with heart, how to move through this human experience with its peaks and valleys, and live in alignment with what speaks truth in my bones and moves me in meaningful ways.

Long before I shared yoga, somatics and psychotherapy, I worked in advertising and spent the bulk of my days living out other people’s expectations. It took a reckoning of realities, and releasing of identities that were not mine to reveal what makes my heart beat. Through grief & grace, fear & courage and curious self study… I learned how to cocreate with the universe. I began to listen to my intuition that was there all along but somehow educated out or outsourced to other, and slowly I discovered a way of listening to the language of abundance, the sign posts of desire, the messy unfolding of duty and purpose and a little more freedom in the process of becoming.

All that and more is the seed of this workshop.

What it is: think yoga philosophy workshop meets process circle meets guided reflection and journaling to explore the 4 aims of human fulfillment: artha, kama, dharma, moksha in a way that is deeply personal and hopefully meaningful to you.

All are welcome. No experience needed.

Join me Saturday morning 8-9:30 AM ✨

Return to Stillness Retreat Recap ✨

One week ago @mdpfilmart and I had the honor of hosting the first of this space we call Return to Stillness.

4 days in collective practices to discover the quiet corners of being, silent breakfasts, intimate circles, conscious sharing, lots of yoga nidra and sound meditations… living and breathing the return to this space over and over again.

Stillness often feels elusive and rare in this world of contract distraction. It is a path that requires practice, tending and the subtle trust in the art of softening into nothing exists an infinite universe of possibilities. I’m always in awe at what emerges in the wake of these practices... Intuition, creativity, rest, connectedness, wholeness, more heart.

Add the layer of community, the power of retreats and the practice is amplified. It reminds me in the goodness of humanity and the undeniable impact of collective effort… what happens when choose to tap into the vibration set forth. We are never alone or separate. All interbeing. One persons practice becomes an anchor for the other next to them. The whole group becomes a holding space for each other. And in the company of support, leaning into the challenges of stillness, what reveals itself in the inner silence becomes bearable, even welcomed with heart and grace.

A few scenes from the 4 day retreat.

🧡🙏🏽 Big love to a few partners who made this intentional experience even deeper

December 3-6, 2027

Exciting news! After some unexpected changes behind the scenes, we’ve rescheduled our annual retreat and found a beautiful oasis of a gathering space in Joshua Tree, CA.

There is a stillness in the desert that asks nothing of you. Wide open horizons, ancient Joshua trees, granite boulders holding centuries of quiet wonder, this is a landscape that teaches resilience and patient presence.

As the days grow shorter and we near the Winter Solstice, Ayurveda invites us to turn inward, slow down, and nourish what's been depleted.

Embodied Ojas is a four-day, three-night retreat rooted in vitality, resilience, and rejuvenation; an opportunity to step away from the pace of everyday life and create space for rest, reflection, ritual, and connection.

Here's what awaits you

Anjali & Gaby by @gabycolletta

There’s a quiet space that exists in all of us.

It lives beneath the noise of life.
When the sensory stimulation dissolves,
the nervous system orients to the hum of nature,
the body softens into the ground of being.

It’s not a space to get to or achieve,
because more often than not
it requires that we allow
presence to bring us there.

In the intimacy of this interior realm
the forgetting slowly fades away
And the remembering reveals what was there all along.

Time and time I’m reminded that I need these practices to return to myself. 🙏🏽 by @gabycolletta

4 months on the road and alas… finally desert bound!🌵🫶🏽

Twas a true tour du cœur, with twists and turns, ups and downs, undeniable surprises that edge discomfort into awe. 4 ocean crossings, 6 countries, many conversations that revealed connection in ways I had not understood.

More soon… but for now I am excited to return. See you soon Tucson!

Let’s move, breathe and be together this week @yogaoasistucson

I’ve come to discover that magic hides from the skeptic and reveals itself in the face of faith. ✨

I am a dreamer. I have ideas and visions, directions and desire. I move on the wings of wind, follow the flickers of fire. I pull the threads of my curiosities to unbind the tethers of my long-held beliefs. It’s fun. It’s hard. It provokes awe and sometimes hurts. And rarely does the path mirror the map I drew at the start.

Accepting this reality turns surprise into serendipity. ✨

Often, it reveals an intelligence beyond my comprehension and the sure delight in the workings of the universe.

It teaches me trust in the essential mystery of things.

I’m nearing what was meant to be a 3 month journey that spilled over into four. I crossed oceans 4 times and softened the armor of my body in water that traveled thousands of years longer than I did and a distance from depths beyond my knowing. I spoke to many walks of people that strengthened my belief in the goodness of humanity. I sat eye to eye, heart to heart with strangers my soul already knew, tears streaming down my face only to discover differences dissolving in a pool of shared belonging.

To say that magic played a hand would be an understatement. 🙏🏽✨
