POSTS STORIES REELS
Tomorrow evening, we begin Ruin Laboratory 01: Neukölln, a workshop series establishing a permanent ruinological faculty in Berlin. Roland Barthes once wrote: “The essence of an object has some relation with its destruction.” We will begin there, with the things that linger after their use, the lives that gather around them, and the peculiar intimacy between a neighbourhood and its ruins. We’ll explore what we call Neukölln Syndrome, and take a closer look at the remarkable afterlife of the department store at Hermannplatz. There is plenty to discover, and still room for you to join us. 4, 11, 18, 25 November 2026 Wednesdays, 19:00–21:00 Linger @galerielinger Boppstraße 2, Berlin Four sessions: €120 Registration: galerielinger@gmail.com Full programme: https://galerielinger.com/blogs/workshops-events/ruin-laboratory-01-neukolln by @galerielinger
6 → 4RTist.de#⇐ @streetinstallation COBALT BOTTLES 6 → 4RTist.de#⇐ collects only about ten cobalt bottles per year. Each becomes a singular object, marked by his hand. Two of them are now at Linger. The third is our certificate of authenticity: a blue bottle, in homage to Marcel Broodthaers, which the artist left unpainted for the occasion. It received the Linger stamp instead. Offered together as a single work. Available at Linger @galerielinger by @galerielinger
WORKSHOP SERIES: RUIN LABORATORY 01 - NEUKÖLLN THE RUIN IS ALREADY HERE. It inhabits our streets, our relationships, our desires. We have learned to live inside it. Some of us have even learned to love it. 4, 11, 18, 25 November 2026 Wednesdays, 19:00–21:00 Linger @galerielinger Boppstraße 2, Kreuzberg Four sessions: €120 Registration: galerielinger@gmail.com What if the ruin is where we feel most at home? Four evenings of urban exploration, reading and collective inquiry into the new ruin. Neukölln Syndrome: the pleasures of the margins, the intimacy of precarious lives, the strange desire to remain. RUIN LABORATORY 01 — NEUKÖLLN A ruin may be a problem, but it is not necessarily one. For an architect, a deteriorating building may demand repair or demolition. For a family of foxes, it may offer shelter. For graffiti artists, a surface of possibility. Who recognises something as a ruin? For whom is it a problem? What emerges when established functions begin to falter? Galerie Linger introduces RUIN LABORATORY, a series of collective investigations bringing together urban exploration, artistic research and critical inquiry. Our first laboratory turns its attention to Neukölln, particularly the area around Hermannplatz. Over four Wednesday evenings, we will investigate the neighbourhood through observation, fieldwork, conversation and individual research. The findings will contribute to a collective ruinological archive. No predetermined thesis. No expected conclusion. 4, 11, 18, 25 November 2026 Wednesdays, 19:00–21:00 Galerie Linger, Boppstraße 2, Berlin Four sessions · Maximum 12 participants Participation: €120 Workshop Host: Paweł Jankiewicz @jankiewicz.p.daily Registration: galerielinger@gmail.com @galerielinger No previous knowledge required. #RuinLaboratory #RuinStudies #Neukölln #ArtisticResearch #BerlinWorkshops [clip by @chemz_doodlez ] by @galerielinger
