Did you know that in the 1970s, 90% of all disco balls were made in Louisville? Disco Horse by local artist @robertwelds plays homage to that past and is on display at @myriadhotelky … the former Omega disco ball factory in the Highlands. Thank you @gotolouisville for making our disco dreams come true! 🕺🪩🐎

Pride is one of the 11 Gallopalooza statues sponsored by @gotolouisville commemorating African American horsemen’s key role in building the foundation of horse racing.

This statue honors Alonzo “Lonnie” Clayton, who rode Ara to win the Kentucky Derby in 1892.

Artist Statement:
A multicolored design that highlights one of the greatest American jockeys in Thoroughbred horse racing, Alonzo Clayton. The vibrant color palette reflects Alonzo’s legacy and the diversity within horse racing.
—Kacy Jackson

Pride is one of the statues that will go up for auction on October 4 at @marriottlouisvilleeast to support Brightside’s efforts to beautify Louisville. Find out more at gallopalooza.com ♥️🐎🎨
