Sunday, we made history. RITUALS: The Sacred. The Now. The In-Between. filled @machinehall for one day, and for the first time in this country, we told our own stories, on our own terms, sharing space with the oldest living culture on Earth. Fifteen years of Heartdancers led to this room. Fifteen years of refusing to be filed under only “multicultural festival” or squeezed to the margins of the stage. Sunday, we opened the doors for free, and this country’s arts and culture stood exactly where they belong. To our artists and panelists, you are some of the finest this country has. To our team, AV crew, volunteers and stallholders, you built this with your hands and your hearts. And to everyone who came and felt, thank you for showing us that when you build with truth, people show up. Thank you to @cityofsydney , @soundnsw and @creatensw for believing in this before it existed. Thank you to @sydneyfringe Yalgali program for holding the room. 📸 @raulolm.photo gracias 🔥 We did this with more love than resources, and it still stood taller than either. With gratitude and fire in our hearts. 🔥 #RITUALS #Heartdancers #SydneyFringe #MachineHall #FirstNations CommunityArts by @gambirra_mob
