Violinist Wojciech Garbowski presents a captivating new solo program, created exclusively for Sonarloft -Tangoloft, centered around Chaconne by J.S. Bach. By highlighting the piece’s often overlooked dance origin, Garbowski draws a bold connection between Bach’s timeless masterpiece, his own improvised compositions, and works by Eugène Ysaÿe, Bela Bartok, Astor Piazzolla, and other dance-inspired works by Bach

Known for his expressive range and innovative techniques, Garbowski uses the violin to explore both smooth transitions and abrupt contrasts, weaving them into a seamless musical narrative that guides the listener through the entire concert experience.

The program features music by Bach, Bartók, Ysaÿe, and Piazzolla, and some uniquely inspired by the spirit of David Bowie—merging classical tradition with contemporary edge.

Program:
Eugène Ysaÿe – Sonata for Solo Violin No. 6 in E major, Op. 27

Astor Piazzolla – Tango Etude for Solo Violin

J.S. Bach – Partita No. 1 in B minor, BWV 1002

Béla Bartók – Sonata for Solo Violin, Sz. 117 – 4th Movement: Tempo di Ciaccona

J.S. Bach – Chaconne from Partita No. 2 in D minor, BWV 1004
