We got this snazzy image from @lydialiebmanpromotions that Garry Dial and I wanted to share! We’re so excited that the Boston Globe featured an article on the tribute album for Charlie Banacos, “Keep Swingin”. It’s produced by Garry Dial and Rich DeRosa and features 30 outstanding musicians. The album is also sold as a book with QR codes for the music; it’s full of photos and memories about Charlie and even cartoon drawings that Charlie and Terre Roche drew featuring jazz saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi. Dear Friends, I’m so excited to announce the soon to be released project “Keep Swingin", on the label Outside in Music. The album features the music of Charlie Banacos , my teacher of 37 years. Rich DeRosa and I teamed up for this very special project with 30 musicians all who have been directly or indirectly influenced by Charlie and his teaching. This project will be released in a new format, the book/recording. It's a 100-page book with pictures, quotes, cartoons, and stories of Charlie, his family and all the 30 players who contributed. Each chapter will have a QR code and you simply click your phones camera on it and hear the music as you read the stories of these great musicians and their journey. We are releasing three teaser singles one per month until the entire book and recording comes out in January. The first single, "The Bat Cave" has just been released. It features baritone sax master Gary Smulyan burning up the town. The Bat is out of the bag !!!!!!!
