Hey there 👋 — it’s been a while since I’ve talked a bit about myself, and today just felt like the right moment.

I work as a school teacher and write as a poet. Both roles shape my everyday life in ways that go deeper than they seem.
Poetry is just as much a part of me as education. One teaches structure, the other emotion — but in the end, both are about connection. About noticing the quiet things. About helping others see more clearly, feel more deeply, and think for themselves.

The world, to me, is something to explore — not just through travel, but through reflection. Movement helps me stay connected: to myself and to what really matters.

I don’t seek to be understood by everyone. What I do seek is real connection. I’m drawn to people who are grounded, curious, and honest.
At my core, I believe we’re all just trying to come home to ourselves.

Hope you enjoy what I share here — feel free to reach out, say hi, or just stay awhile. 🖤

Thank you to @rainerflohrschuetz, my talented photographer, for capturing this moment of me so beautifully.

Love,
G.

post no. 300.
sweden, 2021.

five years ago.
a different place.
a different version of me.

some things have changed.
some things have stayed.

some memories don’t fade.

and somehow,
every version of me
has brought me here.

don’t let life turn you into
someone you never wanted to be.

be reborn, not recycled. 🤍 by @gawan_poetry

Don’t leave anything for later. 😌

Those words felt especially meaningful this week.

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share my work in this beautiful exhibition, not only as the subject of a photograph, but also as a poet with my poem Kopfsteinpflaster.

A heartfelt thank you to Andreas Tauche and @rainerflohrschuetz for capturing the soul of Marburg’s Oberstadt so beautifully and for creating a space where photography and poetry come together.

If you’re in Marburg, you can visit the exhibition “Stadtherzen” at Marburg Town Hall until 20 August.

Put your art out there. You never know whose life it might touch. 🤍
