~Weygand Line 6.6.1940~

The moc represents the breakthrough at the Weygand line on 6.6.1940. This line is just below Amiens and was taken by the Großdeutschland division and destroyed almost without losses. At the end of the moc photos you can still see real maps and pictures from archives. Thanks to @thefinnishbear , @panzer.bricklabs_1944, @mixedbrix and @nighttimebuilder for the Vehicle, the Ausf A Design and the Prints. Special thanks to @mixedbrix for all of the parts! On 6 June 1940, during the Battle of France, German forces launched a large offensive against the Weygand Line, the French defensive position hastily organized along the Somme and Aisne rivers. After the Dunkirk evacuation, General Maxime Weygand tried to stabilize the front by building strongpoints and relying on local counterattacks rather than continuous trenches.

That day, the Germans attacked with heavy air and artillery support, striking the French 10th Army on the Somme. Despite fierce resistance and some localized counterattacks, the French line was gradually penetrated. The superior mobility of German armored divisions and the Luftwaffe’s dominance undermined French defenses. by @gd_lug

This is also my entry for @the.brickcrew contest.

This is my moc for the @the.brickcrew moc contest, it depicts the third battle of Charkow 1943. I will post a yt video soon, but here is some historical context:

———————————————————

The devastating defeat in the Battle of Stalingrad and further Soviet attacks resulted in a 100-150 km wide gap on the eastern front in January 1943.

With the aim of halting the advance of the Russian troops as well as stopping the disorganized retreat of Italian and Hungarian troops, the motorized infantry Division „Großdeutschland“ withdrew to the area around Kharkov by mid-February 1943. Here the division was placed under the command of Army Group South and took part in the Battle of Kharkov during February 1943.

At the beginning of March, on Manstein’s orders, the division prepared to launch a large-scale counterattack together with the 1st //-Panzer Corps. by @gd_lug
