Summer recap! #1 Summer Solstice for @estival_events + @churchofmusicsd colab. I had the privilege to play as the sun set on the longest day of the year, sharing the stage with @maria_dorie_moore, @inbtwn_sd, @luis_triptych, @noire_de_blance, @farmhand_official, @liquidglide, @kai.kenner, and @eva.blu. Such a great start to the season! #2 Leucadia Pride - Organizing this annual exercise in visibility has been so rewarding. This year’s celebration was the best by far! I was joined by @arktkfox, @__senzo__, @eva.blue, @rickraffe and the DJ debut of Dizzle for a parade, afters, and after afters. Best of all, we raised $3,400 for @nclgbtqresourcecenter #3 4th of July for @daybreakersandiego. Downtown with a view of sunset and fireworks. The high priestess herself, @alinagordon11 opened things up with yoga led by @livyyng then I had the chance to play b2b with @mrbolddj accompanied by live drumming from @liquidglide and @kaikenner. @malayaroseart provided a beautiful closing serenade. Thanks to @itstrulysimple for putting that together. Looking forward to more! #4 So many for @rundancefree. In our 6th season of this community fueled forward moving dance party, we experienced growth a little beyond the capacity of our beloved Beacons backyard (literally). This free program has been foundational to building @gen1.love and we are committed to seeing how we can keep it going next season. If you have ideas on a venue for a weekly sunset dance music gathering, please reach out. #5 San Diego Pride - Hands down the best party of the year. In our 4th year of participation, we had a large contingent in the parade and then kept the vibe going at the end of the parade route in Balboa Park with sets from @eva.blue, @arktkfox, @gen1.dj, @rickraffe, @theskandar, @__senzo__ and @mrbolddj. #6 Art + Music Activation collab with @sessionart + @ofstardustandearth Dream collab with @sbellmay from @sessionart and Jen Brown aka @stardustandearth. Live figure drawing with the fierce @_artinthewild_, vibey sunset set from @__uniqui and I closed out the night with peak primal energy from a small crew of my favorite dancers. #7 Summer ain’t over yet!! Saturday August 1st 5pm - 10pm Join us under the summer skies in a breathtaking coastal location for a night of embodied creativity and artistic expression. The evening will start with a breathwork, movement and meditation program guided by @sbellmay of @sesshinart designed to get you out of the thinking mind and into free flowing artistic expression. Once we’re locked in, Jen Brown AKA @ofstardustandearth will guide us through life drawing where live models will hold poses with the Pacific Ocean as the backdrop. No art experience needed. All art materials will be supplied. As the sun begins to dip into the Pacific Ocean, @__uniqui will take to the decks to provide a sunset sonic flight of groovy beats and melodic, soulful sounds designed to get you moving. Finally, @gen1.dj will bring his signature tribal, rhythmic sound, opening the container for full body expression into the night. Two levels of tickets allow you to join for the full art activation and dance experience or, arrive a little later for dancing only. Coastal location will be provided on the day of the event. We look forward to welcoming you into community for the evening and beyond. 😘 by @gen1.dj
Our little block rocker on wheels! This electric DJ chariot was designed specifically for the San Diego Pride Parade. We’d been doing @rundancefree for over a year using a phone, Bluetooth speakers, and old school, single speed beach cruisers. It was so much fun every Thursday in Leucadia that we thought our growing community would be a great edition to the largest celebration of diversity and inclusion in San Diego, the San Diego Pride Parade. We also knew we had to up our game if we wanted to bring Rundance to over 200,000 attendees. So we spent a year in preparation. We formed a 501(c)(3) @gen1.love and crowdfunded over $5,000 from the local Leucadia community to build this thing of our dreams. The base is a @worksmancycles1898 electric mover cargo trike rated at 600lbs. On top of that, @tristenandre at @dfp_industries custom fabricated a chariot base with removable attachments for decks and speaker arms. The chariot can convert from a two passenger seated configuration to a single DJ standing configuration in just a few minutes. We currently have it fitted with an @alphathetausa XDJ-AZ, with @electrovoiceofficial Everse 8 tops, and an Evolve 50 sub. The whole rig is battery powered with a single @jackeryusa Explorer 1,000 solar generator. Including self-contained batteries in the tops, we can run for about 6 hours. Playing on this while moving down a parade route is seriously the most fun and challenging experience I’ve ever had as a DJ. The leaf springs on the trike make it super bouncy in a good way. It definitely wouldn’t work for a vinyl set. 🤣 It requires some core strength and a good driver like @andreinkproductions and even then, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve accidentally hit pause on the active deck just trying to hang on. Fortunately the crowd tends to be super forgiving given the setting. (continued in comments) #artbike #djbike #bikeparade #coolbikes #mobiledj by @gen1.dj

July 4th 7PM - 10PM Daybreaker After Dark! It may be the wrong time for Daybreaker but definitely the right place for downtown San Diego waterfront sunset views to the Big Bang firework show. We’ll start with an hour of yoga lead by @torusdanceco head @livyyng accompanied by none other than @churchofmusicsd Ministress @alinagordon11 Then @mrbolddj and I will bring the big dance energy accompanied by the Fire Tribe Drummers with @liquidglide and @kai.kenner. There’ll be some b2b, and maybe even a fresh new remix dropping for the first time. This is a sober, kid friendly, community focused event. Plenty of parking directly underneath the venue at Progress Park. I’m so happy to help bring Daybreaker back to San Diego. If you want more events like this, please come out and support. Link to tickets is in my bio and at gen1.love. See you on the dance floor. 😘 by @gen1.dj
