Journey Made Possible by Partnership. 💙

The unveiling of the LEAD Fellowship, in partnership with the Office of the Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives with the generous support of Open Society Foundations was a celebration of the partnerships, people, and shared commitment that made this vision possible.

We extend our deepest appreciation to the Office of the Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives for its unwavering support and commitment to making the LEAD Fellowship a reality. Your partnership has been instrumental in creating a platform that invests in young people and their capacity to lead, participate, and shape the future of our democracy.

To our valued partners at the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Engagement @asefon_sunday and @nildsofficial (NILDS), thank you for believing in this vision and for standing with us as we build a new pipeline of young, informed, ethical, and inclusive leaders.

We are equally grateful to Hon. @kafilatogbara , Hon. @b_elrufai , and Hon. @repakinrotimijr for your support, encouragement, and commitment to the work we do. Your willingness to champion initiatives that create opportunities for young people means a great deal to us.

To every member of the LEAD Fellowship Brain Trust, thank you for lending your expertise, experience, and leadership to this journey. We look forward to the depth of knowledge, mentorship, and transformative conversations that your collective contribution will bring to the Fellowship.

And to @yetunde_gold , we celebrate and appreciate you especially. Your contribution to the LEAD Fellowship goes beyond your role as a member of the Brain Trust. Your dedication and the work you have done to strengthen the relationship between Gender Mobile Initiative and the Office of the Speaker have been invaluable. We are deeply grateful for your partnership, trust, and continued support.

To our speakers, facilitators, partners, stakeholders, and everyone who joined us for the unveiling, thank you for believing in the possibility of what LEAD can become. Thank you @kayodeokikiolu for hosting the event with the right measure of steeze

Premiering December 1, 2025 on our YouTube Channel: The Moment We Stand

A story that confronts silence, challenges power, and exposes the lived realities of young women on our campuses, where 7 in 10 female students have experienced sexual harassment. It highlights the need for safer learning spaces for everyone across campus communities especially women and girls, where their voices are heard, their boundaries respected, and their futures protected.

As the world marks the 16 Days of Activism under the theme “Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls,” this film becomes our reminder that harm, online or offline, must be met with collective action and accountability.

The moment we stand is the moment change begins.

Awareness Is the First Step Towards Accountability. 💙

A policy can only serve its purpose when people understand what it is, what it protects, and how it works.

Our survey in Kaduna State revealed that only 47.1% of respondents, from 34 tertiary institutions surveyed, demonstrated knowledge of what constitutes an Anti-Sexual Harassment Policy.

This highlights the need to go beyond having policies in place to ensuring that students, staff, and institutional stakeholders understand their provisions, rights, and responsibilities.

Through the Campus Safety Initiative, we continue to promote policy education and strengthen institutional capacity to prevent and respond to sexual harassment.

A policy must be understood before it can be fully implemented.

HELLO, NOVEMBER! 🧡

A new month, a renewed commitment to creating change.

This November, we are raising awareness, amplifying voices and strengthening our collective resolve to end violence against women and girls.

As we gear up for the 16 Days of Activism, we are reminded that creating a safer world begins with awareness, grows through conversations and becomes meaningful through action.

It is time to challenge harmful norms, demand accountability, stand with survivors and build communities where every woman and girl can live free from violence and fear.

This November, let awareness spark action. Let our voices inspire change. And let our commitment go beyond 16 days.

Here's to a month of learning, speaking up and taking action!

Welcome to November! 🧡

🎙️ LTAI S01E11: Jokes Can Harm Too.

Sometimes, harmful comments are dismissed with “I was only joking.” But when jokes make light of sexual harassment, blame survivors, or turn their experiences into entertainment, the harm does not disappear just because we call it a joke.

In this episode of #LetsTalkAboutIt, @unkuabdullah explores how normalising these jokes can diminish the dignity of survivors and create spaces where harmful behaviour is easier to excuse.

Watch. Reflect. Let’s talk about it.

Building Safer Campuses Across Cross River State! 💙

Gender Mobile Initiative engaged four tertiary institutions across Cross River State, reaching over 900 students, staff, and management members through Policy Education Dialogue Sessions on sexual harassment, technology-facilitated GBV, institutional policies, reporting channels, and rights literacy.

We also trained and onboarded 200 Campus Champions to lead peer engagement, promote accountability, and speak up against SGBV, with CampusPal providing an accessible channel for reporting and awareness. At Favour College of Health Technology, we further strengthened institutional response through joint training for ISHPC members.

Safe campuses are built when people know their rights, institutions take responsibility, and communities act. 💙
