I can finally say that I managed to photograph Chris Cornell's black hole sun. This image of the sun was taken during totality on April 8th, 2024 at 3:25pm, with 11% cloud cover, and which lasted 3 minutes and 28.9 seconds. During a total solar eclipse, the moon's distance from Earth is such that it obscures 100% of the sun's surface, allowing viewers to safely look at the sun with the naked eye. All that is visible is the superheated corona (~2 million degrees F), which is the outermost part of the sun's atmosphere and is normally hidden by the brightness of the sun's surface. In the second shot, I slightly overexposed the image, allowing more of the corona to shine through.

Shouldn't be too difficult to identify this skyline.

Random baby leg. Had to make this quick bc I was the first car at the light with people behind me. But there's no way I'm seeing this thing in the middle of an intersection and not photographing it, 😆 Always keep a camera with you! 😁 by @gennaro_dito

A mother works to fill plastic containers with fresh fruit for sale on the city streets while her young child, tethered to her mother's back in a sling, samples the product.

Dapper Dan; couldn't resist taking this one. Makes me think I should dress up more often, instead of always looking like I stole someone's clothes from the shelter.

I love the challenge of panning with slow shutter speeds, impresses that feeling of motion/movement. Works well with sports/athletes/race cars, etc., but can also work well with pedestrians on the street. Or pink ice cream trucks.

Pizza lady.

Guy on bike, probably 1/20th of a second.

Juvenile snowy egrets bicker and jostle for the parent's attention (and food). Clamping down on the beak encourages the parent to disgorge partially digested food (as seen in the last slide). by @gennaro_dito

More goings-on throughout Manhattan.
