Awk Cast 078 brings you the sounds of budding Berlin-based artist @genoe.21 💙 🌊 The Moabit native and resident has prepared something really, really special in the form of nothing less than a 9h (!) and 41 min recording, all recorded in one take 🤯 Whether you’re planning a long road trip or embarking on an endless afters, this mix conveys all the feels you need for a joyful and deeply immersive ride 🪐✨🌪️ Lock in but don’t forget to bring your snacks along the way! 😋 As you can imagine, preparing this mix has been a monthlong labour of passion, so the he track list is too long for the description. If you're keen to check it out, you can find it in the link below: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1L3VXuaO9UJdXQYUsr9xu06Yw8DBg6omi/view?usp=sharing by @genoe.21
Get ready for a deep winter by @genoe.21
My Outlook closing set just got uploaded! Closing the Source stage on Angel Audio this year meant so much to me. It was the finale of a crazy two week journey of bringing our soundsystem there and visiting Prague and Ljubljana on the way. Im so proud of what our crew is able to pull off and so grateful to my dad who made this possible. (He drove our soundsystem from Berlin to Tisno and back) You will find the link to my set in my Bio or on the Outlook SoundCloud. Most of the tracks in this set are important to me for a long time. Listen to it when it gets dark outside :) by @genoe.21
It is a genuine pleasure to welcome Genoe from Berlin to this channel with a guest mix for some Moments of Light 'n Darkness (MLD). ✨☯️ @genoe.21 She represents the next generation of female selectors from Berlin, in my view. Her focus lies on UK bass music derived from soundsystem culture, specifically the post dubstep era and its Berlin connection. She is part of the Angel Audio Soundsystem Crew, a FLINTA-focused soundsystem initiative, with a connection to Femmebassmafia, which initiated the project to support FLINTA DJs within soundsystem culture by giving them more space and visibility. Her mix spans atmospheric textures and rhythmic post dubstep patterns. It moves through deep dubwise frequencies before opening up into heavier bass territories. There is a careful balance between space and drive throughout the session. It fits naturally within the MLD lineage, honoring the bass traditions while looking forward. You can listen to this on my SoundCloud and my YouTube. She also took the time for a short Q&A session to share her perspective on the scene and her approach. Find it on my Substack. All links in my bio. If you subscribe to my substack, you allways have everything from my projects in one place. https://saiberlin.substack.com by @genoe.21

As part one of our @musicboardberlin funded educational series we invite you for a soundsystem workshop and a night of post dubstep! 🔈Workshop: 19:00-21:00 Carlo Hermann (Horner Audio) and Aarti Kriplani @pfaublau_berlin (Dub&Dal) will do a Workshop about soundsystem Design, Placement & Tuning 🔊Music: 21:30- 05:00 We will serve you a lineup stacked with Berlins finest selectors of 2010 underground sounds. (Genoe‘s dream curation) @uta_bln , @appleblim and Skratch are all longstanding pillars of our Berlin scene. @genoe.21 and @comf.artefacts are picking up the torch on those deep sounds. Approaching the 2010s many people from the original dubstep scene where very disillusioned with where the current scene was heading. The audiences grew and demanded music with a quicker and easier gratification. As a response, many of dubstep’s biggest nerds turned towards making tunes drastically different from the original material while still keeping the core emotional or structural elements. Countless micro subgenres were born, often with little concern to reach a huge crowd. Many local sounds were thrown together, often fusing the emotional depth of those worlds. This time/scene is commonly referred to as the post dubstep period. 📍Location: Your favorite place near Jannowitzbrücke, dm for info Design by @__p__o__n__y__o__ by @genoe.21
