Creative studio with a curious naturalist's eye. Building living systems
beyond the brief across editorial, art direction, and media

POSTS STORIES REELS

This week I thought about how nature teaches us temperance & acceptance of randomness and why living in a frictionless world is worse than any other form of addiction. Now the story is available on my Substack — and here are some pics from yesterday!

At the end of March, @ivanchuv & I decided to explore Terra Alta by bike — riding Via Verde. We started from Tortosa (a town near Tarragona) and ended in Bot — a little farm village in the middle of nowhere (actually… in the middle of Els Ports, a natural park in the mountains).

While travelling, I felt like my head was almost empty, but one clear thought managed to form. The thing is, this route was created from the rehabilitated Val de Zafán railway line, which connected Aragon to the Mediterranean Sea. We rode through empty train stations, liminal tunnels that were built by prisoners, and watched the stars. Does every station keep its secrets? What is the history of this railway, and what is buried under the terracotta stones and pine cones there? My reflection and a tiny research piece is now on Substack (gentle human)

Translated my research on the artist’s place in creating fossils of the Anthropocene🪨

The nature of future fossils will fundamentally differ from everything that humans have studied about the non-human past. However, let’s imagine that a non-human future begins to study the human present. How discernible will the fossils be and will the material forms be suitable to form ideas about the Anthropocene era and humans as beings in general? In what form will artifacts reach the distant future, and what will be the image of humans if they are taken as a basis?

Hello, world! My name is Anya, I am an art director and independent designer. I am also a researcher and naturalist.

My works are inspired by organic matter
and I won’t be suprised to find myself building a farm
in the mountains someday.

but for now it’s about designing.
