POSTS STORIES REELS

5 years. 👼🏼

It’s crazy to think that I was only 10 years old when my world changed forever, and now I’m 15. So much has changed since you’ve been gone, yet I still carry so much of you with me every single day.

I finished middle school, started high school, found a love for the gym, became a team manager, met the people who make it a little easier, and finally discovered the path I wanna take for the rest of my life. I’ve become independent like you always taught me, grown closer to God, and started becoming the woman you raised me to be. I hope you’re proud of the person I’m becoming. I still catch myself wanting to call you and tell you every little thing, wishing I could hear your excitement on the good days and find comfort in your arms on the hard ones.

I miss your voice more than anything, especially hearing, “Hi my love, how was school?” Whenever something exciting happens, my first thought is still, “I can’t wait to tell Mom,” before reality tells me that I can’t.

I wish you were here for every milestone, every game, every laugh, every hard day, and every version of me that’s still to come. Sometimes it makes me feel a little better, knowing you have a front row seat in Heaven watching above everything I do.

The hardest part about growing up without you is becoming a young woman and realizing how many moments are supposed to be shared with your mother. Seeing everyone else have that beside them only makes me miss you more. I wish you could be here for all of it, Ma; for every birthday, every accomplishment, every heartbreak, and every moment in between.

Five years later, I’ve learned that missing someone doesn’t get smaller; life simply gets bigger around it. No matter how much time passes, there will always be a part of me looking for you.

I hope you know how deeply you are loved and missed, not just by me, but by everyone lucky enough and blessed to have the chance to have known you. Thank you for being the kind of mom whose love touched so many people and one that I’m lucky enough to carry with me through every step of life.

You’ll always be the biggest part of who I am. I love you eternally, Ma. ❤️ by @giannakwintner
