Since 1976 Gibbs Construction has been the team behind the buildings where we all work and play, grow up, grow smart, and grow old. This year we’re proud to celebrate 50 years of service across the Gulf South and beyond, and we’re excited to take you with us as we reminisce about the past, honor those who got us here, and look toward the next 50 years.

Join us for First Friday, our monthly networking meetings for subcontractors, vendors, and DBEs, this Friday!

Gibbs team members will discuss upcoming bid opportunities and how you can best position your company for success, and you'll have an opportunity to network with Gibbs estimators and project managers as well as each other.

Plus we'll be joined by Walk Your Plans NOLA to hear about how new technology is improving the design and procurement process.

We love to watch him strut 🐈 Happy National Cat Day to our beloved shop cat, Rusty! He loves greeting us in the morning for pets and treats, taking naps in the sun of the yard, and meowing loudly at us when he thinks we’re being too loud. He’s our favorite feline member of Team Gibbs.

Happy Halloween from Team Gibbs, Holiday Hijack edition! 👻 We mixed it up this year for our annual Halloween lunch, with everyone coming dressed as their favorite holiday--or just the most obscure they could think of. We had Mardi Gras, Christmas morning, Arbor Day, Fourth of July, Cow Appreciation Day, and more.

Congrats to team member MaryJo Theaux for bringing home the potluck prize the second year in a row, this time for her cherry trifle dessert.

We hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween! 🎃

Gibbs Construction’s impact on New Orleans extends far beyond its skyline. We’ve also shaped nearly three miles of the city’s Mississippi River waterfront, building public spaces that bring people closer to the river and the city’s rich maritime heritage.

One of those projects is Mandeville Crossing, a pedestrian bridge that opened access to a new public park beyond the Mississippi River floodwall. Designed by @eskewdumezripple, its 167-foot span of weathering steel, monumental staircase, two elevators, and 30,000 square feet of native landscaping transformed the site into an inviting connection between New Orleanians and their riverfront.

Getting the bridge into place required extraordinary precision and coordination. A 600-ton crane lifted the 38-ton structure 20 feet into the air during a tightly coordinated six-hour window, with railroad tracks closed and overhead high-voltage power lines deactivated.

From iconic riverfront parks to innovative pedestrian connections, Gibbs has helped New Orleans rediscover and enjoy its riverfront for generations.

What a night! 🎉 Thank you to everyone who joined us to toast to 50 years and look forward to the next 50. Guests signed a 6-foot steel I-beam in the Great Hall to memorialize the event, danced to the Mixed Nuts, marveled at our 930 Poydras-inspired cake, and enjoyed delicious food alongside great conversations.

Since giving back has always been part of who we are, we also made that a big part of the celebration. Throughout the evening, guests met with representatives from four of our favorite nonprofits— @soul_nola, @uncommonconstruction, @stmichaelspecialschool, and Jefferson Ready Start—learned about the meaningful work each organization does in our community, and used tokens to direct a Gibbs gift to the nonprofit of their choice.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, signed the beam, and helped us invest in the future of Greater New Orleans. Here’s to the next 50! 🏗️
