$I have a mother, a grandmother, aunts, 12 sisters, a room full of nieces and amazing women in my life who are friends. If anything ever happened to any of them, I’d expect the community men and women alike to stand up and make noise, the same way you would respect people to do for the beautiful Queens and Princesses in your family. The ones who stay quiet are part of the problem. That’s why I write this and that’s why I’m speaking it. Some say this topic is taboo, as if silence is a shield, as if discomfort is a door we’re meant to keep locked. But taboo doesn’t justify silence. Discomfort doesn’t protect anyone. If a truth feels too heavy to speak, that’s exactly why it needs to be spoken. People will argue politics all day loud, confident, relentless, fighting over headlines, parties, borders, anything that lets them feel bold without being brave. But when it’s about women being violated, when it’s about bodies harmed and lives split open, suddenly everyone goes quiet. Suddenly the room fills with fear and they call that fear sensitivity, when really it’s convenience and convenience is the enemy of accountability. I’m not asking for debate. I’m asking for volume. For people to stop whispering when it’s time to shout. Because silence is not neutral. Silence is not gentle. Silence is the echo that predators depend on and if this makes people uncomfortable good. Growth has always been born from discomfort. Justice has always demanded it. So speak. Speak even when your voice shakes. Speak even when the room stiffens. Speak because the truth deserves air and women deserve more than your quiet. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 Speaking up isn’t a choice it’s my obligation as a man and a brother. I’ve held women I love while they carried the pain of this, and I’ve watched a broken system look the other way and do absolutely nothing. If using my voice or making a post can amplify this truth and shatter even a fraction of that silence, then I’ll keep shouting. We owe you all so much more than quiet. by @gilguitarist$

Earlier today Daughters and Sons of Boriken took to the streets in protest of the war criminal and mass murderer Benjamin Netanyahu as he spewed more hate at the U.N... We will fight oppression wherever it may be and we will not allow that demon to speak in our city without resistance!!! Next stop Bryant Park at 4pm!!! We will not stop!!

El Grito de Lares remains in the hearts of the Daughters and Sons of Boriken and the hands that continue to wield the machetes that will carve our path to a free and sovereign Puerto Rico. The war cries of 1898 continue to echo in the ears of the youth and we refuse to call it a so called failed revolution it was simply the BEGINNING of a revolution that we continue and will continue to fight until we are truly free!!
