POSTS STORIES REELS

Meet Elias, one of our 2025 Glia’s TMDSAS Scholarship recipients! ✨ Born and raised in El Paso, Elias has dedicated himself to improving healthcare for families across our border community. After earning his degree in Biology from UTEP, he’s worked as a medical scribe, volunteered at RotaCare Free Clinic, and contributed to research at Texas Tech El Paso on childhood fatty liver disease and human brain imaging.

Elias’s journey is a story of persistence and heart. Inspired by his brother’s medical challenges and by the doctors who treated his family with patience and compassion, he learned early that great care goes beyond medicine — it’s about understanding the person behind every patient.

His dream is to become a physician who provides the kind of care that keeps families in El Paso from having to leave home to find treatment. Elias embodies the purpose of this scholarship: creating opportunity, equity, and representation for the next generation of borderland healers. ☕❤️
Everyone belongs in medicine, and every effort to make education more accessible, no matter how small, brings us closer to that goal. 🌎🤍

Meet Camila Guerrero, one of our 2025 Glia’s TMDSAS Scholarship recipients! ✨
Born and raised in El Paso, Camila spent part of her childhood living in Ciudad Juárez, where both sides of the border shaped her family’s story. Her experiences moving between two healthcare systems opened her eyes early to the challenges many families face when access to care depends on income, language, or location.
From volunteering at a free clinic for uninsured individuals to shadowing family physicians, Camila has seen how deeply healthcare disparities affect the border community, not just through limited resources, but through a lack of health literacy and education. Her goal is to become a physician who advocates for preventative care, empowers patients through understanding, and ensures that no family ever feels like care is out of reach.
Camila represents the kind of future physician who lifts communities by educating, advocating, and creating space where care feels accessible to everyone. Her journey reminds us that improving healthcare starts with those who understand its challenges firsthand — and who choose to rise to meet them. ☕❤️ by @gliascoffeeco

Meet Brianna Morales 🩺 , one of our Glia’s TMDSAS Scholarship recipients! ✨ Born in El Paso and raised between El Paso and Juárez, Brianna grew up bilingual, bicultural, and inspired by the warmth, strength, and generosity of our border community. From a young age, she saw how language and access could shape people’s experiences in healthcare and dreamed of becoming the kind of doctor who makes every patient feel seen, heard, and understood.

Her story is one of empathy and purpose, a reminder that the border isn’t a divide, but a bridge connecting two communities through compassion and care.

Brianna embodies what this scholarship is all about: opportunity, connection, and hope for the next generation of borderland healers. ☕❤️

Everyone belongs in medicine. No dream should be limited by background, language, or circumstance. Every step toward improving access to medical education — no matter how small — brings us closer to a future where healthcare truly represents the communities it serves. 🌎🤍

Hope everyone is having a great start to their Halloweekend🎃👻
As we transition into fall for real this time, I must give a shoutout to @gliascoffeeco for having some of the best fall drinks I’ve had this season! I had the pleasure of trying their iced pecan pie latte and their iced cherry crumble latte from their seasonal menu and both of them were so delicious😋 The pecan pie latte was sweet, nutty and creamy and I loved the little pecan bits at the end. The cherry crumble latte was so unique with hints of almond, and tasted like a pastry in a cup🥐

I also got to try some of their delicious food and I was genuinely so impressed! Their chilaquiles rojos was packed with spice and flavor, and filled to the brim with toppings; I highly recommend adding avocado and egg for some extra protein and to balance the spice🔥 Their brisket and potato burrito was very yummy as well and was a perfect breakfast to kickstart our ventures in El Paso🌵 by @gliascoffeeco
