Instead of wishing you had a different home, or a different budget, or a different climate, find the beauty in what you have. Renting? Focus on collecting art or pieces that you can take with you. No money for a renovation? Tidy up and add some flowers. Loving your home takes work. Deliberate work… that’s the loving it well part.

Wherever you live, love it well.

Drop any questions you have in the comments so I can be sure to answer them. Are you ready?? School starts Monday! by @glover_home

These are called feverfew, and they’re the perfect little darlings for a mixed bouquet, or can be arranged en Masse in a big vase for the best cottage vibe. Some people confuse it for chamomile, but feverfew is often preferred for floral design and there are many wonderful varieties. Comment SEEDS and I’ll send you my top 3 varieties and a direct link to my source. by @glover_home

To be fair… I have a really small face😘 If you’re new here, hi! I’m McCall. I once had a dream of having 50+ peony plants, and now I have 400+ and counting. Dream big my friends, and never say no to blooms bigger than your face.

Almost Greek Pitas—the perfect summer meal! Not quite Greek, but filled with all the fresh and tangy ingredients you love about Greek fare. It’s far more satiating than a salad, and a must-save for your summer meal rotation. Recipe below!

Ingredients:
Marinade
-1 lb chicken thigh
-2 tbsp plain yogurt
-2 tbsp harissa
-1/2 a large lemon, juiced
-3 cloves garlic, minced
-2 tsp sweet paprika
-2 tsp sumac
-generous salt and pepper

Quickle
-1/4 red onion, sliced very thin
-1/2 cucumber, diced small
-1/2 lemon, juiced
-1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
-drizzle with olive oil
-chopped dill (optional)
-salt and pepper

Tzatziki
-1/2 cup plain yogurt
-1/4 cup cucumber finely chopped
-1/4 cup dill or pineapple sage, finally chopped
-1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
-1 clove garlic
-drizzle olive oil

To serve:
-4 fresh pitas (from the bakery—I grab mine from Costco)
-Feta cheese (Boars Head or bust😘)
-Arugula

Prep Instructions:
1. Prep chicken. Combine marinade ingredients in a bowl with chicken thighs. Massage marinade into the meat and store in fridge 2-6 hours (in a pinch, 30 minutes will do).
2. Prep tzatziki. Combine ingredients in a bowl and store in fridge until ready to serve.
3. Prep quickle. Combine ingredients in a bowl, and store in fridge until easy to serve.
4. All ingredients can be made several hours in advance. Pull meat out of the fridge 30 minutes before cooking.
5. Cook chicken. We prefer to use a flat top or grill, but any approach works. Just be sure to let the cooked chicken rest before chopping it.
5. To assemble—cut pitas in half. Stuff with chicken and arugula. Top with quickly, tzatziki, and feta.
I hope it will become a staple in your rotation, too! Happy eating! by @glover_home

Have you done a friends market yet?! Here’s a how-to and ideas for goods, below!!

How it works: Friends bring goods inspired by a farmers market—think homemade, artisan, or fresh goods—then you ‘shop’ each other’s items. You can save this post to remember the ideas for your own market😘 And comment MARKET for the supplies I used for hosting—the garden lights and painted totes definitely added to the fun!

How many goods to bring:
I’ve done it multiple ways: you can bring the exact number of goods needed for the number of attendees, or you can bring a designated number of goods and take home that same number. For example, ‘bring 10, shop 10’ or ‘bring 15, shop 15’. The second option works great for a larger group, and especially if it’s hard to get an exact count of attendees. But it’s also so fun to be able to take home one of each item, so if you have an exact count, go with option 1!

Make sure to individually package goods for ‘shoppers’.

Ideas for goods to bring:
Cookies, Cinnamon Rolls, Syrups, Jams, Breads, Butters, Protein Balls, Caramel Apples, Homemade Vanilla, Granola, Lemonades or Juices, Fresh Eggs, Garden Veggies or Fruits, Flowers, Soaps, Candles, Bath Salts or Bombs, Essential Oils or Sprays, Homeopathic remedies, Rice Bags, Beaded Jewelry, Banners, Crocheted of 3D Printed Goods, Keychains, Ribbons, Greeting Cards, Bud Vases or Trinket Trays, Bags or Satchels

Any other goods you’ve seen that I missed?! Share them below! by @glover_home

Multiply your ranunculus for even more abundant blooms next year! Ranunculus are one of the most beautiful flowers—a romantic bloom with layers on layers of petals. You’ll want to grow them in your backyard garden year after year! Here’s a great step-by-step on how to save your corms.

I know it seems simple, but a homemade bucket list will dramatically improve your summer! It’s tempting to just print off someone else’s premade bucket list—DON’T do it! This costs less than a dollar and takes less than 10 minutes to make, and it will be relevant for your family and easier for you!

Here’s what to do:
1) Get a plain old poster board, and decorate it with your “family bucket list”—let the kids help!
2) First add vacations and extra curriculars that you already have on the calendar, remember this is relevant to you.
3) Next add anything you already have gift cards or passes for—think state parks, free coupons the kids picked up at school, or the gift cards that you forgot about.
4) Add anything you want to accomplish even if it doubles up with something you already wrote. For example, we will go to the lake, but my kid wants to learn to surf on his own, so we’ll add that, too!
5) Finally, add any other things you’ve missed—small things like making cookies and drawing with chalk, or bigger things you’ve wanted to try in your community. Then, if you want, you can google a summer bucket list for any last ideas, but you should already have a big list that is more relevant to you and your community.

That’s it! Hang it in a place where everyone can see it—we’ve don’t this for years, and it’s fun that our guests can see it when they come, too. It doesn’t have to be cute or perfect, just yours! Continue to add to it, but don’t pressure yourself to finish everything. The point is to make summer easier and more exciting. Not overwhelming!

PS… we keep going on the bucket list through calendar summer (September 22) just because it’s fun to keep doing things, and summer break is too short! by @glover_home

I love watching flowers dance. It’s a metaphor for life—the winds don’t need to break us, rather they can create something beautiful. God is all around us💕

Your kitchen doesn’t have finished to be functional. It doesn’t have to be perfect to be a happy place. Just a reminder to love where you live, no matter the current state. And as always… add flowers😘

If you want TALL snapdragons, you need cool temps! Snapdragons love temps 40° F and below while they’re developing their roots and stems. I live in a hot climate (zone 8b), so I ‘overwinter’ my snapdragons to make sure they get these cold temps. This means I start them from seed in August and September, then plant them out by October or November. Come spring, the stems are nice and tall before they flower—it’s not unusual for my snaps to be over 3 feet tall!

Want my other important tips for long stems? Message me ‘snaps’ and I’ll send you two more KEY factors to getting long stems.

The key to ranunculus is timing! Where I live, temps hit 80° by late April, so they need a head start. Planting in the fall will do the trick. This year it was ESPECIALLY hot. We hit 90° F in March😫 My blooms weren’t perfect, but they still brought me a lot of joy.

Do you grow ranunculus? What tips do you have?
