We wanted this shoot to feel a bit more cinematic from the start, so we adjusted the lighting to create something moodier and more intense, and Nick absolutely brought the energy for it 👏🏼

A few editing tweaks, one brief moment of way too much eye sparkle 😂, and this was the final result… 🖤

I wasn't going to post so soon but last week Braddah Dyl from the "Hawai'i delegation" went a wee bit viral and we wanted to give him a shout out. @dylanchacelee knew exactly what was needed for one of Pa'akai's high school friends. Next to him sits the equally talented @maimasavusa. Make sure to come see Oli during HIFF--premiere date and other viewing dates coming soon!!

We are also extremely grateful to @d.esmnd for his song Passionately! He also allowed the usage of Aloha Shirt for one of our other scenes--how cool is that?!?!

As we near our world premier @hiffhawaii, I'll be dropping some screen shots. Here we can see Pa'akai (background right) moving as Shane (foreground) provides covering fire, communicating as they move forward to close with and engage the enemy.

Apparently I can't talk right today🤪 Anywho, had a great muddy run today with Lei. Saw friends and turned a 4.8 mile run into 6.3 miles. The good news was it was only about an hour run...not sure if that's good as I rarely run more than 3 miles. Based on the automatic captions I breathe heavy in Japanese! Still, felt good. Dying now! Lei barely got a work out in.

I've been dying to do @thedavidhenryhwang play Yellow Face since I read it in 2015 at @playhousewestla. That time finally came @manoavalleytheatre with the amazing director @redlotushawaii casting me despite the ten days I had to miss at the beginning. Mahalo nui loa for taking a chance on me to join your cleverly executed artistic vision. THUNK!

Look at this cast! All extremely talented and all crushed their parts...like really most of the actors had tons of characters to play--all distinct! I had one! Tip of the hat to you!

This is a journey I will never forget!
